We're hiring on the University Growth team at NOCAP Sports.
We're the commercial operating partner embedded inside 60+ university athletic departments, generating recurring revenue for schools through enterprise brand partners, alumni business networks, athlete marketing programs, and university procurement.
We're adding two roles to grow that revenue with our university partners:
🔹 University Growth Executive (Columbus, OH): own our most important university accounts and the revenue they produce. Link: linkedin.com/jobs/view/44811…
🔹 University Growth Associate (Tampa, FL, Hybrid): activate alumni business networks and build pipeline for our top university partners. Link: linkedin.com/jobs/view/44811…

The first jersey patch deals aren't basketball deals. SMU put Texas Capital on all 17 teams. Indiana put Merchants Bank on all 24, plus coaches. St. John's, Saint Louis and Siena went department-wide too.

It was announced that @CalAthletics rebranded its stadium @databricks Field, and the structure of the deal is pretty cool.
Reported at $22.8M over up to 10 years, and it's funded by UC Berkeley becoming a Databricks shareholder. Databricks was born in a Berkeley lab.
Most naming-rights deals are cash for exposure. This one gives the university equity upside in one of the biggest AI companies in the world.
Michigan turned $20M in OpenAI into a projected $2B. Athletic departments are starting to think the same way...

Super bullish on Michigan State, and it comes down to three things stacking at the same time:
The raw material was always there...More than half a million living alumni sit behind a home state corporate base that runs from Ford and GM to Rocket, Penske and DTE, and MSU just closed a record $736 million university-wide fundraising year from more than 63,000 donors, nearly double the prior year.
Spartan Ventures launched July 1 as a nonprofit parent with a for-profit media arm built to bring in outside capital, and a foundation underneath it carrying the donor relationships. The MSUFCU jersey patch, ten years across all 23 teams and reported in the range of $40 million, is first real proof of what that vehicle can do.
Now Dan Bartholomae steps in, having grown average annual giving 473% at Western Michigan and moved a privately funded $515 million arena into construction there, after running the $153 million Reser Stadium project at Oregon State.
Demand, structure, and a leader with a fundraising and capital record at every stop. That is a hard combination to find in one place.

I’m officially back in the college sports space… 👀
Excited to announce I’m joining @NOCAPSports as Head of Innovation & Commercial Strategy!
It’s funny to me, because the role kinda brings my entire journey full circle.
My first business was an NIL agency. Soon after I started it, I knew I didn’t want to work exclusively in NIL marketing.
The business model was brutal. It’s hard to scale. And I often found that the best part of working with athletes, was actually just saying you worked with athletes…
Despite that, the overall space of college athletics has had me fascinated.
The rules changed overnight. Universities have been forced to change systems that have been in place for decades. Schools are frantically trying to figure out how to generate revenue to stay competitive.
I knew of NOCAP Sports from the early NIL days. They were a competitor of my NIL agency at the time. I reconnected with @nickatnocap in February, and he shared the new vision of the business with me.
Partnering directly with schools. Creating sustainable revenue streams through their business communities. Helping large corporations enter the college sports space. And so much more…
For the last four months I’ve been contracting with NOCAP, working with our school partners like @FloridaState, @UofSC, @PittTweet, @VillanovaU, to build out our flywheel.
For so many reasons, NOCAP felt like the perfect fit for the next step in my journey.
Since I started that NIL agency in 2021, I’ve stayed close to college sports but not all the way in.
I’ve done marketing for small businesses and large corporations. I’ve launched podcasts. I’ve built in-person brand activations. I’ve led two viral creator-led college tours.
Most importantly, I’ve had a ton of different experiences that have reshaped my perspective on relationships, media, and business.
This next step feels like the culmination of all of it.
My job is to build out our school relationships, create & drive new revenue streams, and bring new initiatives to the table for our partners.
NOCAP is going to play a large role in reshaping the future of college sports. I’m excited to help build it 🚀
NOCAP Sports is proud to announce our newest partner, @Norton LifeLock Benefit Solutions, the nation's most trusted identity theft protection provider.
Through this partnership, Norton LifeLock's identity protection and financial wellness benefits will be offered as a voluntary, employee-paid perk to university employees and donor-owned businesses at no cost to the institution.
When employees enroll, NOCAP shares a portion of the revenue back to support athletic department budgets and NIL opportunities.
New money for athletic programs without anyone writing a new check.
We're also bringing Norton's protections directly to students, a group especially vulnerable to cybercrime and financial fraud, along with financial wellness tools covering education, guidance, and student loan support.
This is the NOCAP model in action. Connecting universities to best-in-class partners to unlock sustainable, above-the-cap revenue that didn't exist before.
Employees get real benefits. Students get real tools. Universities get real revenue.
That's the future of sustainable college athletics🏆✔️

JMU just issued a request for proposals for a public/private partnership to develop its mid-campus, and the scope is a lot bigger than a stadium project.
Filed July 2 under Virginia's PPEA law, which lets public universities partner with private developers on major builds, the RFP lays out a mid-campus vision that includes expanding Bridgeforth Stadium from around 25,000 seats today to 30,000-plus with new student, flexible and premium sections, a new fieldhouse and athletic performance center to replace the current football operations setup, at least 1,000 new student beds by July 2028, and a mixed-use entertainment district with shopping, dining, lodging and entertainment around the stadium.
Proposals are due August 31, and the whole thing sits inside JMU's broader Madison Promise plan and 2027 campus master plan.
Here's what I think is smart about it: JMU is treating the middle of its campus like prime real estate to develop, the way a private developer would. By going the PPEA route, they bring in outside capital and expertise to build the district instead of carrying the full cost on the athletic department or the university. Done well, a stadium district turns six or seven football Saturdays into a place that draws activity and revenue all year, with housing, retail and entertainment feeding one another.
What makes it more impressive is the timing. JMU only jumped to FBS a few years ago, and they're already building like a program that plans to be a fixture at this level. Putting up the physical footprint and the revenue engine at the same time shows real ambition, and it's the kind of move that keeps a young program climbing.
This is one of the more forward-thinking swings I've seen from a newer FBS program. Treat your campus like a developer would and the upside compounds. Great to see JMU thinking this big this early.
Proud to announce our partnership with SMU Athletics🤝
Together, we’re launching a strategic revenue initiative that connects SMU’s business network with our vetted national service providers, creating meaningful, long-term support for the Mustangs.
A win for businesses. A win for @SMUMustangs 🐎
