Lieutenant-General Iain Huddleston, Deputy Commander of NORAD, hosted Royal Canadian Mounted Police Deputy Commissioner Mark Flynn to advance alignment between military and law‑enforcement partners in Security Cooperation and Assistance‑to‑Law‑Enforcement situations.
The discussion focused on command‑and‑control modernization, emergency airlift coordination, Arctic operations and readiness, joint training, and UAS/counter‑UAS integration, all essential to NORAD’s mission to deter, detect, and defeat aerospace threats to the continent.
NORAD and the RCMP routinely work together during major domestic security operations to ensure coordinated airspace security, including past support to the 2025 G7 Summit in Kananaskis and the 2026 World Cup matches hosted in Canada. Strengthening this partnership enhances the binational response framework that keeps North America safe.

NORAD aircraft are conducting a planned live-fly air exercise in support of Operation #NobleEagle over Palm Beach, Florida, today.
NORAD F-16s and Civil Air Patrol (CAP) aircraft will participate in the exercise. The CAP aircraft will operate as low as 1,000 feet, and will likely be visible to the public.

Happy 251st Birthday to the @USNavy ! 🇺🇸⚓
As part of our binational maritime warning mission, NORAD works closely with U.S. and Canadian naval forces to share critical information and promote a comprehensive understanding of the maritime domain.
Together with our partners, We Have the Watch.

Pilots know that good decisions start long before takeoff.
Before every flight:
✅ Check the weather
✅ Review your route
✅ Read your NOTAMs
Reading your NOTAMs is the single most important step in avoiding a NORAD intercept. The safest intercept is the one that never has to happen. Stay informed, stay clear, and fly smart.
This #WingWednesday, we are highlighting 4 Wing Cold Lake, Canada’s largest and busiest fighter wing. For more than seven decades, 4 Wing has generated and sustained combat‑ready fighter aircraft, personnel, and training that enable the Royal Canadian Air Force to protect and defend Canada’s interests at home and abroad.
4 Wing contributes to the joint safety and security of North American airspace through continuous participation in the NORAD mission, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Its CF‑18 crews and support personnel uphold the vigilance, responsiveness, and professionalism required for aerospace warning and aerospace control in defense of the continent.

Airshows are fun. Real-world NORAD intercepts are not.
Pilots: before you fly, review your NOTAMs, confirm TFR areas, and adhere to all restricted airspace regulations.
Fly informed. Fly smart. Keep NORAD fighter jets off your flank.

How did NORAD first appear on your radar? ✈️
For some of us, it’s a cozy holiday memory - calling the NORAD Tracks Santa hotline as a kid and refusing to hang up until he cleared your local airspace.
For others, a cinematic memory - watching classic, blockbuster movies where Cheyenne Mountain's massive blast doors sealed shut to protect the world.
And for a few, it was simply hearing fighter jets rumble overhead, looking up, and thinking, "That’s probably important."
What is your introduction story to the world’s only binational Command that defends North America 24/7?
👇 Drop it in the comments below! We want to hear the funny, the nostalgic, and the personal connection stories.
We welcomed Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force David Wolfe to our headquarters this morning as he met with NORAD and USNORTHCOM Total Force Airmen and reinforced the importance of readiness across the homeland defense mission.
Congratulations to MSgt Adam Hall and SSgt Colten Tessness for their well deserved recognition, outstanding performers representing the best of our Total Force.
NORAD has concluded Operation ARCTIC VANGUARD 26-4.2.
Through the Alaskan and Canadian NORAD Regions conducting operations alongside personnel and aircraft from the Kingdom of Denmark and NATO, the NORAD-led operation strengthened readiness, interoperability and the ability to operate from forward Arctic locations in austere conditions.
OAV 26-4.2 advanced the skills, coordination and experience required to support NORAD’s missions of aerospace warning and aerospace control in the defense of North America’s northern approaches.
