This debate highlighted how serious this election is.
There is a clear choice between sticking with National's plan that is working, or going back to the same Labour Party who made this mess.
It’s going to be tight.
Stick with the plan that’s working and Party Vote National.
#BREAKING We need a welfare system that is firm, fair and affordable. A safety net for Kiwis who need the help, not a system that gets abused and burdens taxpayers across the country.
Here are five changes National will make to Jobseeker:
1) Introduce random drug testing for Jobseekers.
2) Invest earlier to help 30,000 long-term Jobseekers into work, with more intensive employment support.
3) Strengthen expectations after two years on Jobseeker. Those who have received Jobseeker for two of the previous three years will move to a lower payment rate.
4)Double the stand-down period to 26 weeks for people who repeatedly leave work without good reason.
5) Increase the residency requirement for benefits from two years to five.
These 5 action points will provide more support to help people into work, while making clear that those who can work are expected to.

Prime Minister Chris Luxon did an outstanding job in tonight's debate, and it showed just how stark the choice is this election.
Chris Hipkins confirmed Labour will tax more, spend more, and borrow more, offering Kiwis short-term sugar hits dressed up as policy.
He also confirmed Labour would slow down NCEA changes, scrap an hour a day of reading, writing, and maths, and bring back co-governance of public services, just under a different name.
National has a plan to keep growing the economy, spend sensibly, and get debt down, with no new taxes.
By contrast, a Labour coalition would squander surpluses, hike debt, and hit Kiwis with nine new taxes to pay for its spending. That would mean households paying $2,263 in extra tax every year.
Labour's plan will not only increase taxes, but their reckless spending will push up inflation and interest rates, just after National got them back under control.
This is a close race and every party vote counts. If you want to stick with National's plan to build a more secure future for all Kiwis, party vote National 💙
