President Trump and I are on the same side when we speak about ending Russia’s war, but we see different instruments for achieving that goal. My philosophy is that Putin is a deeply Soviet person, both in his reality and mentality. We know it because my generation was born in the Soviet Union. When Putin is lying, we feel it. We were neighbors with the Russians for so many years. That's why I think we understand the Russians more clearly than the United States. The United States, considering global security, can discuss with the Russians different topics. But we understand the mentality of both Putin and the Russian people, their soldiers and civilians. When they are ready to do something, and when they fear Putin because they know they can be imprisoned. If they don’t go and kill Ukrainians, Putin will sanction them in his own way. Therefore, President Trump supported us on some topics, while on others we have different views. From an interview with The Sun. (1/3)

I just love this one: "Ukraine, don't antagonize Trump." Listen -- from the very first day of his return to the White House (and even long before that), Ukraine has indulged his every whim and gone along with every one of his insane plans. It has dutifully catered to his grotesque craving for the most nauseating flattery and joined everyone else in massaging his monstrous ego, singing in chorus the praises of his incredible leadership, talent, power, and divine beauty. Ukraine, and Zelensky himself in particular, has turned a blind eye to and endured countless humiliations, insulting antics, idiotic outbursts on Truth Social, and hysterical spectacles like the Oval Office showdown. Ukraine has unfailingly supported 100% of his ridiculous, nonsensical, and downright idiotic imaginary "ceasefires," which Putin couldn't have given less of a damn about. And yet Ukraine had to listen, over and over again, to accusations that it "doesn't want peace," responding to every such outrage with yet more praise for Trump and bending over backward to appease him, desperate not to give him the slightest excuse to accuse it of being "uncooperative." Meanwhile, Putin has spent all this time amusing himself, making a complete fool of Trump in front of the entire world, and openly spitting on every one of his frantic diplomatic maneuvers. We've been living in this madhouse, where night has become day and day has become night, for almost two years now. And what? How's that working out? What has all of this accomplished? More slaps in the face, and ultimately, Donald Trump's complete and final betrayal and his active decision to side with the Russian aggressor. And somehow it's Ukraine that's "antagonizing" someone? At least have the decency to stop hiding behind this laughable victim-blaming and your invented alternate realities, and just come out and say it: "Just fucking die, all of you Ukrainians, so our idol can line his pockets with Kremlin money."

A trilateral meeting between the leaders of Ukraine, the US, and Russia could help end the war sooner. A trilateral meeting between the leaders of Russia, China, and the US would do only the opposite: encourage Putin to continue this war. Inviting Putin to such a meeting would feed his appetite for self-aggrandizement and give him a stature he does not deserve. He is not a global leader; he is a war criminal. And Russia is not a global power; it is a global problem. The Russian economy is at least 13 times smaller than America’s and 8 times smaller than China’s, and it continues to shrink rapidly, along with Russians’ living standards. Russia has lost 1.6 million soldiers killed and wounded in a failed war it cannot win and refuses to end. Under heavy sanctions, its technology, industry, and business continue to stagnate. By any pragmatic or moral measure, Putin has no place at the table with presidents Trump and Xi. The only thing that could earn him that seat is a serious step toward peace, such as accepting a ceasefire proposal before any such meeting. Instead, we are seeing the opposite: intensified terror against civilians. As long as he continues this terror, there should be no place for him at any table.

This has been Putin's dream for years: That his country, with GDP per capita lower than Poland, unable to conquer Donbas since 2014, will be treated as an equal to the US and China. wsj.com/world/russia/putin-f…

🇮🇹 Meloni’s Powerful Speech: “I Don’t Miss Russian Tanks in Europe” Speaking in the Senate ahead of the EU summit, Italy’s prime minister called for continued support for Ukraine, warning that its capitulation would not bring peace but would instead lead to occupation and the return of Soviet imperialism. 💥 “Capitulation is not peace. I don’t miss the Russian tanks that crushed the uprisings in Prague and Budapest. And I don’t miss the Berlin Wall,” Meloni declared. Her words were met with prolonged applause from the chamber. Giorgia Meloni also addressed the US agreement with Russia on diesel fuel supplies, cautiously describing the deal as risky.

Well-known Ukrainian military aerial reconnaissance specialist Oleksandr "Serg Marco" Karpiuk writes on Facebook: "...Starlink is a civilian communications system. And SpaceX is responsible for its civilian use. Standard Starlink terminals currently have a default speed limit of 22 m/s. To enable flight at speeds above 22 m/s, Ukraine signed contracts for Starshield, which is overseen by the Pentagon. This is already a military system, with Starlink terminals that offer greater functionality, although the accounts are considerably more expensive. And it was the Pentagon that did two things in a single day: restricted intelligence sharing and changed the parameters of Starshield accounts. This was a decision by the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth. Clearly on Trump's orders...." Maybe this is the key to understanding what exactly happened.

Yesterday, The Washington Post published an opinion piece by David Ignatius It is essentially being called a leak of the American negotiating team's "peace plan." If that is true, I'm having a sense of déjà vu. It feels as though President Trump’s negotiators didn't even bother to come up with anything on their own and simply asked Russians to bail them out with ideas for the peace plan. I tried to find at least some differences from what Russia has been demanding for years, but I couldn't find any. President Trump's team is proposing that Ukraine give up the territories seized by Moscow. From Kushner and Witkoff's perspective, this is what a compromise looks like. The only thing that's hard to understand is where exactly the compromise is. The EU is in shock over how two negotiating geniuses agreed to reshape the European security architecture as if they are the ones actually calling the shots there. In 2008-2009, Moscow was pushing for a treaty that would allow it to control the security decisions of European states. In 2021, it demanded a limit on NATO expansion and a rollback of the Alliance's military presence to its 1997 levels. Now the American team is including agreements between Europe and Russia on Russia's "security concerns" in its proposals to end the war. Truly, why didn't anyone think of this before?! Now, about guarantees... I’m just tired... This is like an endless Budapest Memorandum... But I think I’ve figured out where Russia's compromise is: in exchange for territorial concessions from Ukraine and the restructuring of European security, Russia will generously agree to Ukraine stopping its strikes on Russian oil refineries, while Europe gets hooked on gas again. And Russia still needs to be persuaded to agree to all this. Here, Kushner and Witkoff propose appeasing Putin by lifting sanctions. I think that’s not enough. They should have also offered Moscow compensation for losses. Ukraine's reconstruction is being used as an argument in favor of territorial concessions. Investment, along with the participation of the World Bank and BlackRock, is supposed to make the deal more attractive to Kyiv. Seems like someone is missing here - Gazprom, the Rotenberg brothers... Who else? Seriously, though, it’s all depressing. It’s clear that Ukraine and Europe are being treated here not just as fools, but as some kind of pie that it’s time to divide. If we're going to be this cynical, I'd like to ask the brilliant American team - what part of this pie is left for the United States? Right now it looks like just the wrapper. Reports about the possible sale of Lukoil's international assets, worth approximately $20 billion, mention investors linked to business partners of Kushner and Witkoff. Russian television is filled with such loud laughter and mockery of the American president that only someone completely isolated from reality could fail to hear it.

We must stop issuing tourist visas for Russian citizens across the EU. I have invited other EU Member States to join a letter addressed to the European Commission. I am calling for a complete EU ban on Russian tourist visas for as long as Russia continues its war of aggression. It is not right that Russians can travel to Europe to enjoy the way of life and freedoms here while their country bombs the homes of Ukrainians. Issuing visas to Russians for non-essential travel was banned in Finland already in 2022. The same must finally happen at the EU level. I am also calling for a ban on Schengen visas to Putin’s inner circle, visa restrictions for Russian athletes, and the effective implementation of the visa ban on Russian combatants. The EU must act together. um.fi/current-affairs/-/asse…

Peace never comes through weakness. Today, representatives of the U.S. Congress were in Kyiv – a bipartisan delegation – and I am grateful to them for visiting Ukraine at such a difficult time. They asked: what is needed to end the war? The answer must be strong. There must be sanctions under the Lindsey Graham bill, there must be support for Ukraine in protecting lives, and there must be pressure on Russia for its war. And today, there was a conversation between the leaders of America and Russia. A conversation that leads to something different. Recently, there was a European decision to lift sanctions on Russian oligarchs. Since then, Russian strikes and the torment of people have only increased. This past week alone, there was a brutal Russian missile strike on a residential building in Pryluky, aerial bombs were dropped on Kramatorsk – on ordinary city buses – and there have been constant attacks on Kyiv’s energy infrastructure and on the life-sustaining infrastructure in Dnipro, Kharkiv, Odesa, and our other cities. Dozens of people have been killed and hundreds wounded. The Russians are compensating for their inability to achieve their objectives on the battlefield with this kind of terror. This year, Russia is weaker on the battlefield than at any other point in the war. That is why Putin is relying on terror. That is why he is relying on attempts to strike backroom deals to secure some form of pressure relief for Russia, in order to buy more time and more opportunities for war. Any easing of sanctions against Russia without a clear and lasting de-escalation agreement with Russia is an obvious weakness. It plays into Russia’s hands – allowing it to kill more, wage war for longer, have even less respect for America, and inflict even greater losses and damage on the world. Ukraine is ready to take symmetrical de-escalatory steps, and the American team knows our position. Our strikes on Russian oil refineries and other oil facilities are a response to Russia’s years-long campaign of terror against Ukraine’s energy sector. Ukraine will not set Russian oil refineries on fire if Russia does not destroy our energy infrastructure. This is the kind of agreement we are proposing to America, and we believe the United States has enough power to achieve such a compromise. Gifts to Putin will not bring peace or any benefit to the civilized world. Russia will “repay” the diesel with further terror and perfidy. Allowing Russia to sell petroleum products is an investment in a war that must be ended, not prolonged. What is needed is real de-escalation with Russia on a reciprocal basis. We count on America’s fair support for our defense of life, for our defense of people in Ukraine – and on the United States having a correspondingly strong conversation with Russia. A strong one, not a weak one.

Russian strikes killed over 80 Ukrainian civilians in two days. Moreover, it has stepped up its hybrid attacks against Europe, both EU Member States and NATO Allies. Suspending sanctions on Russian diesel provides Moscow with more revenues to wage war. This is not the time to ease pressure on Russia, and Europe won’t. On Monday, EU Foreign Ministers intend to approve the biggest set of sanctions listings targeting Russia’s war machine since the start of the war.

President Zelenskyy’s comment on US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s remarks that the war in Ukraine is at a "strategic stalemate" and that there are now "no prospects for a negotiated settlement": "You cannot negotiate future economic projects with Russians on the one hand and, on the other, claim that we are in some kind of diplomatic stalemate. We are not in a diplomatic stalemate. Shut down Russia’s entire economy. Shut Russia's mouth. Stop feeding them through your sales. Impose sanctions on their weapons. Open Starlink for Ukraine. You opened it when responding to Iran, after all. Everything worked there. Israel completely controlled the skies over Iran. So when you need it to work, it works. It costs them nothing to help Ukraine. And I said quite frankly: help us protect our skies and gain dominance there. Then Putin will sit down at the negotiating table. Why? Because he will lose everything. In two or three months, he will lose everything. And instead, we are waiting for the Chinese to develop an equivalent and hand it over to Russians. This is not a stalemate - this is called a lack of will."
"Right now, there don’t seem to be prospects of a negotiated settlement of the war in Ukraine. But the US is prepared to play whatever role we can in making that happen. It would be good for Russia and Ukraine, but so far, it’s proving elusive." - US Secretary of State Marco Rubio In an interview with the Greek outlet Kathimerini, Rubio described the war in Ukraine as a "strategic stalemate" that can be overcome in only two ways: through negotiations or through escalation that goes beyond the original conflict. Rubio said that, at present, there are no prospects for resolving the war through negotiations. According to him, Russia continues to insist on full control over Donbas, while for Ukraine "that condition is simply unacceptable." "A diplomatic solution has eluded us, but we are prepared, if we can play a constructive role, to make it happen. In the meantime, we watch with great concern as escalation could happen. Just yesterday, some ships were attacked in the Black Sea through a coordinated drone attack. We’re worried about a sabotage operation in a neighboring country that can spiral out of control. And, obviously, there are clear indications that Russia will use the upcoming winter as something they want to use to destroy what remains of the electric grid in Ukraine and force them into capitulation. Meanwhile, Ukraine has grown more effective in its ability to conduct long-range strikes deep into Russia. So, we share the same concern. The whole world is going about this thing like something that could escalate and perhaps become a broader conflict. So, we stand prepared to facilitate and continue to explore any opportunity for a negotiated settlement," Rubio said.

Russia's missiles and drone violations of Moldova’s airspace over recent days are unacceptable. The Kremlin is putting lives at risk across the continent. The European Peace Facility remains the backbone of Moldova's defence modernisation. Our support through the Facility now stands at €317 million euro, making Moldova the second-largest recipient worldwide. The Russians are escalating. I am not surprised by Russia’s hatred of Ukraine, but I am surprised by this approach. They struck our warehouses – Nova Poshta, Ukrposhta, and others. We gave them a fitting response with Wildberries. Now they are striking bridges. Do they really think we won’t respond? They are striking data centers. All of this affects people. This is certainly not some kind of military infrastructure. How can they strike data centers, mobile communications? How does Putin not think about the fact that mobile communications are used not only in Kyiv, in Ukraine? They are used in Moscow too. I am really surprised by this savage desire to escalate every single day. In other words, he is counting on constant escalation. He wants this very much. This is an answer to everyone – to those who believe that all you have to do is simply ask Putin and he will end the war for real. It won't happen simply. Polish FM Sikorski: "Kremlin’s assets frozen in Europe are never going back to Russia. They can be used in the future as war reparations or to help Ukraine rebuild, or they can be used now to help prevent further destruction and make future reconstruction cheaper. Unfortunately, even if the war ends tomorrow, Russia will remain a threat. We cannot afford to once again underestimate the danger of Moscow’s militarism. Europe is not a global empire and does not intend to become one. We don’t need military bases in every corner of the world. We need to be strong enough to deter Putin." - @sikorskiradek

Russian strikes are incoming from all sides onto Kyiv, in broad daylight. Markets, gas stations, a hospital, office, kindergartens, residential buildings. Russian scum cannot push through on the front line, so they are staging genocide in Ukrainian cities. Many people asked in the comments why we ignore air raid alerts and are outside of shelters during Russian attacks. The answer is simple: alerts last for hours many months in a row. We need to work and live. The world continues watching a live broadcast of Ukrainians being killed.
Russia hit a private medical center in the center of Kyiv. This is, again, a purely civilian object, in the middle of a busy business street, in the middle of the day.
