A period should never be a test of what a girl can endure!
The products that touch women’s bodies must meet the standards that protect them. Safe MH products are not a privilege, they are a matter of health and human rights. #MHVoicesUg
Tradition is meant to pass on values, strengthen communities and connect generations. It should build, not break. It should protect, not harm. It should empower, not limit.

FGM is not a rite of passage, it is a harmful practice that can rob girls of their health, dignity and future. Let girls grow, learn, dream and thrive without harm. Protect her childhood.

@NaguruC This doesn't mean that I was the best but the service I have rendered to the young people has been felt by many and I commit myself to doing the same as trend the path changing many lives of the young so that the community feel my leadership
Different places. Different experiences. But one thing remains the same, the dreams of young people.
Today at Dicwinyi Primary School in Palabek Kal Town Council, NTC joined Lamwo District Local Government, @OPMUganda and other partners to celebrate #InternationalYouthDay under the theme “Different Contexts, Same Aspirations.” The celebration puts young people’s voices, hopes and potential at the centre.

Dr Richard Mugahi commissioner for reproductive health @MinofHealthUG has reminded legislators that building health facilities alone is not enough. Functional health systems require adequate health workers, medicines, equipment, financing, information systems and effective leadership. #MHVoicesUg
Why does this orientation matter?
Parliament holds two critical levers: financing and oversight. MPs can influence health & education budgets, scrutinise policies and fiscal measures affecting essential health products, and ensure resources reach facilities, schools and communities.
#MHVoicesUg
It also positions menstrual health beyond hygiene, as a key part of RMNCAH+N, education, gender equality, disability inclusion, WASH and Universal Health Coverage.
The orientation brings MPs, government, civil society, development partners and manufacturers together to identify practical parliamentary actions and a clear follow-up mechanism.
Every girl deserves the chance to stay in school, grow up safe, make informed choices and pursue her ambitions. By ending FGM and early marriages, we create space for girls to thrive.
Protect her dreams. Protect her future. #EndFGMUg #VoicesUncutUg
HAPPENING NOW
At ADMAS Hotel, Entebbe, Members of the 12th Parliament of Uganda are being oriented on RMNCAH+N ( Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health and Nutrition ) and Menstrual Health Advocacy.
The orientation is equipping MPs with evidence, budget and oversight tools to champion better health outcomes, menstrual health and dignity for all.
#NTCUpdates
From menstrual health information and affordable products to WASH facilities and supportive fiscal policies, Parliament has a critical role in creating an enabling environment for every girl, woman and menstruating person to manage their periods with dignity, safety and confidence.
