One challenge in robotics is making powerful models run on hardware that people can actually access. Compute is getting more expensive and relying on high end gpus can make real world deployment harder.
The π0.5 rollout stack was reduced from around 22 gb to 11.2 gb of vram. This makes it possible to run on 16 gb gpus, including the rtx 5080 and 5070 ti. That is a useful step toward making advanced robot models more accessible.
This also matters for teleoperation. When robots need to respond to human actions, every bit of delay can affect how well they handle objects, avoid mistakes and complete tasks. Making inference lighter can help reduce hardware limits and make remote robot operation more practical.
What interests me about @PrismaXai is how these improvements connect to the bigger picture of physical ai. Teleoperation needs reliable models, good data and hardware that can support real tasks outside controlled environments. Making the technology easier to run is another step toward bringing capable robots into everyday work.
