We interrupt your regularly scheduled crypto content for an interview with @StanfordGSB on my background and what we're building @ProblySomething. People often ask why I shifted from defense tech and law enforcement to running a crypto and AI focused company. In the interview, I outline my history of building technical safeguards that protect individual rights and share how those same principles apply to operating in new and uncertain industries. lnkd.in/eTvjh2tE

Cryptopunks already feel nearly unattainable, and they remained so for most of the bear market. Another bull market, though, and I suspect they will leg up even higher.

The bull market people think we're in versus where we actually are.

1/ With the rise of embedded wallets, a vital topic to think through is interoperability. That is, how do siloed wallets turn into global wallets. In this thread, I explore a few paths to consider. 🧵👇 Note: approaches 1-3 are simpler; 4-7 more complex

The asset end game. L1: ETH / BTC OG NFTs: Punks (pre-ERC 721 pfp), Apes (utility), Squiggles (gen art)

The long term story of @cryptopunks is still as solid as ever. If ETH / NFTs grow massive over, the original NFT asset will be even more valuable. On-chain history.

People use difficult platforms to trade accounts, skins, and weapons DESPITE often getting scammed. Liquidity and transferability is THAT important to them.

My thesis on decentralized systems: The digital world is getting more complicated, and your identity, data, and assets should travel with you wherever you go.

A theory: Some systems can only work if they're fully decentralized. Otherwise, the natural question of "why do THEY get all the power?" comes up. The example that comes to mind is decentralized identity. Worldcoin could succeed, but they're facing an uphill battle against public opinion that @proofofhumanity hasn't.

Friend.tech already feels like it's replicating some of the worst patterns of NFTs. In NFTs, a lot of thought goes into a launch of a token. In friend.tech, having a token is the default. Everyone is a "creator." What would have happened if it were an opt-in instead? 🤔

Since founding @ProblySomething, I've paid myself a total of $0. I wonder how many other founders in the space can say the same.

Maybe the @friendtech success and the @beam_eco early signs of success are really just signs that crypto needs to make the jump to mobile. Mobile-first PWA, passkey-powered, noncustodial.

Love the new @ourZORA mint rewards functionality. Makes it possible to build a whole new suite of discoverability across the chain.
