Congratulations to the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on 50 years of dedicated service and leadership!
For five decades, the Chamber has played an important role in advancing Hispanic businesses, fostering economic opportunity, and strengthening our region’s business community.
Wishing you continued success and many more years of impact! 🎉
My first official act as Commissioner-Elect:
Taking down my campaign signs throughout Georgetown! 💕
The campaign may be over, but the work of serving our community is just beginning.
Thank you, Georgetown, for your trust and support.
Tonight, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and my sincere appreciation to everyone who had the courage to throw their hat in the ring. Public service begins with a willingness to step forward, and everyone who answered that call deserves recognition.
I am deeply grateful to the residents of Georgetown, ANC 2E07, for their overwhelming support and the opportunity to represent our community.
A very special thank you to my inspiration, Dr. Monica Roaché @monica_roache, and my dear friend, Director Kari Cooke, for their encouragement, friendship, and support. Your belief in me means more than words can express.
As I begin this new chapter, I remain committed to listening, communicating, and advocating for the community I am proud to call home.
Thank you, Georgetown! 💗

Tonight, I had the opportunity to say goodbye to Councilmember Robert White as he turns his attention to his next chapter and his bid to become D.C.’s next Delegate to Congress.
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Robert long before I began working in D.C. government and before he became a Councilmember.
I wish him Godspeed on his next journey and thank him for his years of public service.
Wishing him all the best as he seeks to become our next Warrior on the Hill!
Victory and honor belong not to those who stand on the sidelines criticizing, but to those who have the courage to enter the arena and do the work.

The murder of a child is a pain no parent should have to endure, let alone from thousands of miles away.
Javits Frimpong’s mother deserves to say goodbye to her son in person. I just got off the phone with President Trump and he has agreed to grant her visa immediately.
All of New York City is mourning this tragedy.

There’s nothing like the High Heel Race in Dupont Circle! For more than 30 yrs this tradition has brought our city together to create space where queer & trans residents feel protected, seen & celebrated. It’s also a beautiful sight when neighbors show up for one another! 💜🏳️🌈

A little sunshine, a little grit, and a whole lot of gratitude. ☀️
Stepping into a new week with confidence, purpose, and a grateful heart.
Happy Sunday! 🧡
🕊️ Heartbroken by the passing of Director Talib Shakir.
More than a colleague, Talib was a friend. We had lots of laughter, love, and honest conversations about work and life. I will always remember his warmth, brilliance, and genuine commitment to serving others.
Grateful for his friendship and the moments we shared. My deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the entire MORCA and EOM team.
Rest in peace, my friend. 🕊️
Tonight, I joined colleagues for Mayor Muriel Bowser and the DC Council’s Congressional Black Caucus Washington Leadership Reception.
Enjoyed spending time with members of the community, along with Amber Jackson of the Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs and Heather Gibson of the Mayor’s Office on African American Affairs. It was a pleasure sharing the evening with so many familiar and new faces from across the District.
A wonderful evening highlighting leadership, partnership, and the spirit of Washington, DC during CBC Week. ❤️
This past weekend at Art All Night in Georgetown, I had the pleasure of meeting Ruth, Art Director at L’Enfant Gallery.
Today, I was pleased to continue that conversation by connecting Ruth with Aaron Myers, Executive Director of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
We had a thoughtful conversation about expanding opportunities for artists who have not always had access to traditional spaces in the art world—and how stronger connections can help open more doors.
Because every artist deserves the opportunity to be seen and supported. 🎨

Enjoying an evening right here in my neighborhood celebrating the creativity, culture, and community that make DC special.
So far, I’ve painted while listening to a great local dj, stopped by Shop Made in DC to support local makers, and now I’m enjoying dinner at 1310 Kitchen.
A beautiful night to get out, explore the neighborhood and experience DC. ❤️

🇯🇲🎬 An evening celebrating Jamaican storytelling on the big screen!
It was a pleasure attending the special U.S. screening of Stew Peas, written, directed and produced by award-winning Jamaican filmmaker Sosiessia Nixon-Kelly.
There is something powerful about seeing authentic Jamaican and Caribbean stories, talent and culture represented on screen—and watching those stories continue to reach audiences beyond our shores.
Congratulations to Sosiessia and the talented cast, including Kerry-Ann “Chiney K” Collins, Tarique Barrett, Shak-Quera South, Shernet Swearine, Nestor Aaron Absera, Kimberlee Dobson, Hilary Nicholson and Marlon Walker, and to the entire team behind the film. Especially Lisa Alexander, who was instrumental in bringing the film to the DC Metropolitan area.
Proud to celebrate and support Caribbean creatives who are telling our stories and expanding the presence of Jamaican cinema on the global stage. 🇯🇲🌎🎥
