I hope everyone looks at this thoughtful article from a survivor of sex trafficking. We should always center the stories of people impacted by the legislation and I hope we do that next session in this regard.

The bills signed by Governor McKee are the biggest commitment to affordable housing in Rhode Island history. Now we need to make sure housing is fully funded in future budgets. That’s just what I’ll do as District 1's next State Senator.

Maryellen Goodwin was a champion for the elderly, victims of domestic violence, and her beloved Smith Hill neighborhood. Her voice will be missed in the legislature and she and her family are in my prayers.

@projo: With a final vote by the House on Tuesday, the legislation — sponsored in the House by Reps. @OBrien2024forRI, a Providence public school teacher, and @NathanBiah, a Providence school principal, among others — is now headed to @GovDanMcKee's desk where it is expected to be signed into law.
The stated goal: to avert a teacher crisis in Providence and a handful of other communities this year and next, while lawmakers chew on various proposals to address the shortage itself.
