As part of the approach to making language fit with the values, behaviours and be the most inclusive at @LewishamCouncil, staff agreed at all levels "BAME" is no longer used to describe people of different ethnicities as a collective. The term agreed now is "Ethnically Diverse".
If you missed the event, there will be plenty more opportunities coming up to get involved and meet with other members.
At the event, we discussed the benefits of being a UNISON member, including access to legal advice and support, as well as exclusive financial benefits and discounts.
The energy and enthusiasm was great to see, and thank you to everyone who came out and spoke with us.
