Section 13(c) of Rhule’s contract is a mitigation clause. If Nebraska fires him he has to make reasonable efforts to find another job, and his new compensation offsets what Nebraska owes him. His Panthers contract had a similar clause which saved Carolina $29m in buyout payments.
