LOST MEDIA: In 1993, an animated series titled ESCAPE FROM JURASSIC PARK was in development.
It was eventually cancelled before full production; however, not before a lot of work was done, including a pitch trailer.
At long last, that trailer has been unearthed.

Darmok is the perfect ST episode. Aliens with sequined pajamas, weird foreheads (and uniquely, weird thumbs), planet that looks like socal, the worst cgi alien of all time, plastic knives, ship battle that’s just lasers & shaky screen, and it’s the greatest sci fi story ever done

Watching all the posts fly about Patrick Stewart, I have noticed something incredibly interesting that reaches deeper into the core of humanity: everyone, across the political spectrum, loved Picard.
The original Picard, from the 1990s. It seems people from all walks of life feel a heartfelt loss, and I think there is more to it than just nostalgia or a celebrity passing.
The TNG stories spoke true to everyone, no matter their politics. It was an era where we were able to agree on fundamental things, where our shared humanity and its complexities were spoken through timeless storytelling. It makes you wonder if that balance is why the 1990s feels like such a golden age in hindsight.
I often see the argument that when the original Star Trek came out, traditionalists were offended by it, and that heavy-handed ideology and corporate pandering in the recent Star Trek series are the same thing. But I would ask: what about The Next Generation? It, too, asked deep, challenging societal questions about the human condition - yet everyone, left and right, loved it.
I realize it was just a show, just a fictional character. But I think there is more to it. It represents something we are all sorely missing today: depth and a sense of shared humanity, delivered without constant virtue signaling, and without corporations trying to monetize every last ounce of our attention.
Perhaps the true magic of Picard - and the era he represents - was that he challenged us to be better without ever making us feel talked down to. He invited us to reflect on our flaws rather than policing them. In losing Patrick Stewart, we aren't just mourning an icon; we are mourning the standard of grace, curiosity, and mutual respect he embodied so brilliantly - and which is becoming harder and harder to find.

this clips really nails what Stewart was better at than probably anyone else –– he took the impenetrable speech of sci-fi pulp and turned wormhole talk into something urgent and alive and human. nobody could deliver those kinds of lines the way he did

I hope a lot of you start watching TNG because not only is it a magnificent feat of television/acting/prosthetic magic, it’s often a welcome antidote to feeling absolutely hopeless about the state of the world.

Was halfway through the TBG episode “Who Watches the Watchers?” before Stewart passed away; resumed watching it and found myself getting emotional even at this straight-forward scene of him trying to convince someone that he is mortal by explaining evolution. Just no other equal.

In honor of Patrick Stewart’s life, do yourself a favor tonight.
Go watch season 5, episode 25 of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
The episode is titled, “The Inner Light.”
You can thank me tomorrow.
Geordi La Forge actor LeVar Burton pays tribute to his “Star Trek” co-star Patrick Stewart:
“He was family. There is no other context in which to hold him that makes sense. I am lucky to have known and loved so many of the facets of a soul so rich in talent and generous of heart. Of all the Dames and Knights I’ve known he was deep down-the silliest.”
