1/ Just when we thought we’d caught a break from the weather… Another spell of strong winds and heavy rain is on the way. 🌧️ 💨
Rain will move in from the southwest later today, with winds picking up this evening.
Here’s what that means for the railway. ⬇️ ⬇️
5/ 🚧 Strong winds and heavy rain can bring trees down onto the railway, damage overhead wires and cause flooding.
Our teams are keeping a close eye on conditions and preparing for the impacts as the weather moves across Scotland.
6/ Travelling tonight or tomorrow? Please check your journey at nationalrail.co.uk before setting off and allow some extra time.
We’ll be doing all we can to keep trains moving where it’s safe to do so. Follow us on social media to get the latest updates and information.
🚦 Our engineers are at Craigendoran dealing with a signal fault that’s preventing trains running between Cardross and Helensburgh (Central and Upper)
They’ll work to fix this as quickly as we can and get services moving again. @ScotRail @GBRailfreight @CalSleeper

🍂 Our autumn operation is now underway, with 8 treatment trains set to cover more than 80,000 miles of track across Scotland, using 155 tonnes of sand to improve grip. 🚆

🍂 One of our leaf-busting trains passing through Glasgow Central low-level a few minutes ago.
It’s cleaning the rails following #StormBeolo. We’ve seen a huge amount of leaves blown from trees in the past 36 hours as you can imagine!

âś… Good morning. As of Monday, 26 Oct @ 06:15, Scotland's Railway is open, with two exceptions:
🔴Crianlarich – Oban
đź”´Inverness - Wick/Thurso
Work continues on these two remaining routes, and we'll share more news shortly.
@transcotland @ScotRail
We’ll work through the night to repair and reopen routes affected by #StormBoelo. Flooding, fallen trees/debris, damage to overhead wires, and power failures are among the problems the railway has faced.

đź‘· Our maintenance team on site at Bishopton on the Glasgow Central - Gourock/Wemyss Bay route.
They're clearing away a fallen tree, ready for our overhead line engineers to move in to repair the damage it's caused to our equipment.

📣 Most train services are expected to run as normal on Monday as Scotland’s Railway recovers from #StormBoelo, although we’re asking passengers to check before travelling as some disruption will continue. More ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️

Sun, 25 Oct @ 15:30. We’ve just caught up with our weather specialist on #StormBoelo.
60-70mph winds are becoming more widespread across eastern areas now, and we’ll start to see their impact in the coming hours. The storm remains in line with @MetOffice amber guidance. 1/3
Winds are starting to ease in the south-west, though in the east we expect them to last until at least 21:00 and in the north until midnight.
We’ll continue to track the storm and its effects on Scotland’s Railway until it passes. 2/3
