This is quite a heartwarming story of patience and loyalty.
However, the fortunes of 24 million people can not continue to rest on the internal mechanics of the succession intrigues of the quisling underlings of what has proven over the last 27 years to be a malevolent personality cult.
Celebration of godfatherism and emilokanism is not unexpected of beneficiaries of same, considering the humiliation that attends even a perceived slight of their god.
From 2027 onwards Incompetence will no longer succeed incompetence in Lagos State in Jesus' mighty name.
Neither Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour nor myself were nominated by ANY godfathers anywhere.
We are both competent in our chosen fields of human endeavour, which, interestingly, actually involve the very skillset that the higgedly-piggedly Lagos that APC will vacate in 2027 needs, WITH AMPLE EVIDENCE.
We will not relent in our determined quest to actualise the potential of Lagos that has long been hindered by the APC machine of corruption.
Neither of us is given to tasteless, gratuitous displays of wealth, even though ours is without blemish.
We are completely focused on our mission - which is essentially to turn Lagos State into a true Global Power, and by default, Nigeria, whether Nigeria wants it or not.
Lagos will no longer play second fiddle to any territory in Africa, besides Nigeria. Our target is to become the largest economy by Per Capita Income in Africa within 8 years.
This goal requires serious minds, agile brains and serious skills unfettered by the greedy demands of a shadowy godfather.
After the last 27 years of famine, this is the very least that Lagosians deserve, a s by the Special Grace of God, we shall deliver, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Most of you know this story, but none of you have heard it from me.
Back in September 2018, Femi Hamzat wanted to be Governor of Lagos State. He had thirteen years of public service under Asiwaju and BRF, with the record and backing to win. Then party leaders asked him to step aside for me.
It takes a rare man to put down what he wants without nursing a grudge. Femi shook my hand and five weeks later, agreed to run beside me. I have never forgotten that.
Anyone can read a CV but only the person in the room with a man when the cameras leave can tell you who he really is. For 2,711 days, I have been in that room with him.
When COVID-19 hit, when we faced our hardest weeks, when the Blue and Red Lines ran and when the Lekki Deep Sea Port opened, Femi was there. Long before any ribbon was cut, he was asking the tough questions an engineer asks.
In many states, deputies are kept in reserve. On day one, Femi promised to be the best deputy governor in Lagos history. He kept his word. In seven years, there has not been a single day I wondered whose side he was on. We have had one government, one direction, and one voice.
Lagos runs on a relay system. The baton is never passed to a runner standing still. You run at full speed inside the exchange zone, together, before the pass. That is how Lagos has been governed for 27 years, from Asiwaju to BRF, to Ambode, to me.
Femi is a deputy governor like no other. He built the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge under Fashola, digitized government under Asiwaju and holds a doctorate in engineering. His father served Lateef Jakande. This is in his blood.
Critics say Lagos keeps choosing from the same pool. I say Lagos trains its people. With major projects underway and a master plan stretching to 2052, this is not the time to experiment. What Femi presents today is not a campaign promise cooked up on a bus, it is the next leg of a race we have been running since 1999.
Lagos does not hand the baton to a man standing still. Today, you have seen the man who is already running. Let us move forward together with The Lagos PROMISE.

So you've heard about Lula's stunning win in Brazil. But are you aware that another huge country in the Global South had a nearly identical scenario 11 years ago - and made a totally different choice? What was the result there?

BAT CAN be defeated.
But the ONLY thing defeating Bola Tinubu is ensuring we all come out massively in overwhelming numbers to vote. Even if you don’t have PVC, come out.
We owe it to ourselves & the future generations.
Vote for Peter Obi ✌️!!!

RE: SENATOR ROCHAS OKOROCHA’S REMARKS ON PETER OBI’S SINGLE-TERM COVENANT
We have reviewed Senator Rochas Okorocha’s comments on Channels Television’s *Politics Today*.
We accept his description of Peter Obi as “a fantastic gentleman; clear in his head.” On the claim that a single term is “a four-year gambling,” we respectfully disagree.
Section 135(2) of the 1999 Constitution provides that a President shall leave office after four years and may seek a further four years. In law, “may” is permissive, not mandatory. A single term is therefore constitutional. It is not a gamble.
Nigeria already tested an eight-year tenure between 2015 and 2023. The result was rising inflation, a weakened naira, soaring public debt, widespread poverty, and insecurity across the country. That is the real balance sheet of prolonged tenure without performance.
Peter Obi’s offer is a performance bond, not a gamble. He has pledged to serve one term, to be judged strictly by results, and to hand over power in 2031 in recognition that it is the turn of the North. This is sacrifice for national stability.
Leadership is measured by impact, not duration. Nigeria’s problem has never been insufficient time. It has been the repeated failure to use time well. Mr. Obi proposes to reverse that culture: one term dedicated entirely to delivery.
When a man entitled to eight years voluntarily chooses four and invites the nation to judge him by results, he is not gambling. He is sacrificing.
This is not a gamble. It is a rescue mission with a deadline.
