One of the fears of #GenerativeAI is that bad actors will use visual tools to flood the ecosystem with misinformation. One potential antidote is for authentic photos to be stamped and tracked so you can see what edits have been made. Here’s what that might look like #journalism

Like in this case, in a sensitive place like Ukraine, geographical stamps could put our photojournalist and her subjects at risk of danger. Or how much basic editing does the end-user care about. Or what was outside the frame. But at least let’s ask these questions.

In any case it is great to see companies coming together to use modern technologies like #blockchain to solve real issues like authenticity, truth and trust in #journalism

It's very weird watching our @Reuters #AI session at #ona23 from London and seeing myself on a pre-record rather than being able to beam in live. Will be here for any follow-up questions from the audience there and hope to be there in person next time #greekhands #journalism

Really enjoyed my conversation with @nytimes editor Joe Kahn at the World News Media Congress in Taipei today. From reporting on China to backlash against NYT reporting to innovation to managing a four-generation newsroom to independence, we got through a lot! #WNMC23
New York Times Executive Editor Joseph Kahn in conversation in Taiwan with @NewsEdJane on meaning of being truly independent - even when issues divide communities and your own journalists #WNMC23

Great day learning together from the new @risj_oxford Digital News Report #DNR23 with @rasmus_kleis @NajaNielsen2 and @kamalahmednews Some key takeaways: know your audience(s) and listen to them; be true to your DNA; be as creative on the business side as you are in editorial

As @rasmus_kleis said, it’s no longer about digital transformation but the transformation of digital. None of us has “grown into” black and white TV, landlines etc so don’t expect the next generations to grow into print or broadcast. We need to keep changing
