Hurty words orders are now live!
Why do I imagine that this will be disproportionately applied to right wing demonstrators and Christian preachers?

“Okay and that oilfield would be in the South Sea then would it? Yeah, no let’s knock it on the head then mate. Yeah, wait - you’re saying it’s actually in the North Sea? Right well that’s different”

Great graph I've seen on the "sustainability of the triple lock".
Can't wait to claim my triple-locked pension (making up 8.6% of GDP) in 2076!
Microsoft has pulled out of a data centre in Essex because the grid can’t connect it until the 2030s. It was meant to go live last year.
If Britain can’t build cheap, reliable power, the AI boom will pass us by, and growth with it.

Hiding debt doesn’t make it disappear.
CPS Fellow @TimDier explains why Labour’s approach to measuring debt risks encouraging more borrowing and spending - leaving taxpayers to pick up the bill.

Young people are leaving Britain, especially HENRYs (High Earner, Not Rich Yet).
For my mate at Amazon, every incentive is there for him to move to their American offices for a better life and lower taxes.
📺On GB News last night with @PatrickChristys
Brits are leaving the country in their droves, and the ones that stay have every incentive to leave instead.
Nothing works, taxes are high, cost of living is biting.
📺I'll be on @PatrickChristys tonight at 9:45 discussing why so young people are leaving.
This has always been a ridiculous policy.
Young people these days are taught through state schools that the British military did all sorts of evil ... now they want youngsters drafted in?
Don't make me laugh.

Andy Burnham should bring back National Service, the Labour head of a cross-party group on the Armed Forces has said

It seems that Ed Miliband has finally got a job he's a little more suited to.
Shame it couldn't have been before 18 years of Net Zero and a few months of cringe-inducing "diplomacy".

The grid is under strain, the police have lost confidence of the public, prisoners are being released early, the military is in a dire state, taxes are at sky high levels, government finances are on a cliff edge, and this is what the Mayor of Britain thinks is worth his time.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham is going to be taking part in Celebrity #Gogglebox, this Friday.

🧵 Today the Centre for Justice Policy is publishing 10 new grooming gang sentencing remarks from Rochdale, Huddersfield, Rotherham, High Wycombe, Nottingham and Chelmsford.
Some had no reporters in the room, and coverage of the rest missed much of what the judges said.

As East End culture has declined in London, a different culture has replaced it.
Worth noting that just 3 months after NZ2050 was signed into law, Onward released a report announcing their "fiscally responsible path to Net Zero".
Was Net Zero ever really fiscally responsible?
Jackdaw being approved is the right call but it's four years late.
Burnham says it’s about security not bills.
Fine. But now he has to do the bit that does cut bills: firm power.
45GW gas + 20GW nuclear = £320bn saved by 2050.
Also approve Rosebank. 100+ North Sea projects are watching.

No amount of consultation on the “optics” of Net Zero changes the basic problem.
Decarbonising Britain through rigid bans and mandates has driven up energy bills and hollowed out our industry.
Challenging Net Zero is the right approach.
To clarify, a highly contested case by Greenpeace and other climate groups put the project on hold in 2024.
Miliband KILLED it dead in the water later that year by dropping the government's legal defence against judicial reviews into it, effectively sabotaging the original plans
Jackdaw gas field has FINALLY been approved by Labour for drilling.
This was first approved by the Tories in 2022 but put on hold by Labour in 2024 (just for them to now U-turn).
We can't afford to keep playing fast and loose with domestic energy security.
