Iโve always been fascinated with the symbolism of flowers in paintings and why they so seldom are carnivorous plants

You donโt have to pick one passion. Learn philosophy. Paint. Write. Build things. Study the stars. Disappear into the woods for a while. Then get obsessed with something completely random next year. A single lane is for cars, not for people. Chase a life full of curiosity.

Water Lillies in Fall (2024), by Jeffrey Vaughn
What side of your personality do you hide from the world because it conflicts with how you want others to see you?
An unreliable narrator
Like a narrator whose account cannot be fully trusted, the artwork shifts between revelation and deception, urging you to question who is speaking, what is real, and what has been left untold.
She is both the storyteller and the source of confusion, quietly guiding your gaze while distorting what you see.
Made with old comic books, spray paint and ink.
Sold on SR in 2025.
I have always wondered why it so common to draw or paint the subject facing away from the viewer, often gazing at something in the distance
Why are you on the outside looking in? What purpose does this distance serve?

I always remember an example from a PR lecture I attended. They were talking about the fear of experimentation and the fear of being yourself "because no one will understand you." The lecturer gave a funny example of a dermatologist who ran a YouTube channel where she showed how she treated boils and other pimples. The channel had a mind-blowing audience. She said: there are 8 billion of us, and if even the idea of โโsqueezing pimples is interesting to millions of people, then any topic will find its audience if you talk passionately. Don't be afraid to be yourself; there will always be those who will find it resonant.
I've remembered this my whole life, and it's true. Even the tiniest world will sooner or later have a guest who will love it.
