Envy
Helmut Schoeck (Envy: A Theory of Social Behaviour):
"Both are enraged at another's having, knowing, believing, valuing, possessing, or being able to do something which they themselves do not have and could not imagine having."
Meaning … Those who fight new ideas and those who try to tear everything down are often just angry that someone else has something they lack and cannot imagine having.
