Stop motion is really cool.
But I really can't watch more than like fifteen twenty minutes at a time. It's just too weird for me.
I don't think we appreciate just how extraordinary language is.
People are always praising animals for understanding certain words or using a basic means of communication, but none of that comes even close to the complexity, the depth, the subtlety of human languages. It's like comparing a computer to the human brain or basic arithmetic to differential equations.
Every human language is capable of describing feelings and senses, thoughts and actions, concrete and abstract concepts. Even ideas beyond normal comprehension.
We need to love languages more. We need to appreciate and venerate them more and spend more time mastering them.
