Thank you @koconews and @KylieKOCO for highlighting the urgent need for ATV and UTV safety during National Injury Prevention Week. Oklahoma leads the nation in deaths among children under 16 on these vehicles. A DOT-approved helmet, proper protective gear, age-appropriate vehicles, and safety education can save lives and prevent life-changing injuries in Oklahoma. @Okla_Childrens @OUHealth @OUCollegeofMed @OU_Neurosurgery

Our patients are our greatest teachers. Morning Report at @OU_Neurosurgery keeps us grounded: a whiteboard, a case, and a team committed to learning together. PGY‑3 @Ornate_Brute broke down pineal germ cell tumors—proof that low‑tech teaching can create high‑impact learning.

Will Kennedy lived with Chiari malformation pain for 15 years. With God's grace, I am grateful to help him find relief and to work alongside Dr. @NicholasSader in our @OU_Neurosurgery Chiari Clinic. Humbled to be part of his care. ouhealth.com/blog/2026/july/…

Although open access publishing has drawbacks, a key benefit for M4s ahead of ERAS is how FAST it can get a manuscript from submission to PMID... #JNLSR increased our #ImpactFactor again this year to 0.8 (!), and we would be proud to publish your reports! lp.thieme.de/journals/journa…

Treating an unstable os odontoideum in a 3‑year‑old is a significant undertaking, and I’m continually humbled by the skill and dedication of our team who make cases like this possible. By God’s grace, the child is doing wonderfully. ouhealth.com/blog/2026/june/…

Excited to see our lab being utilized in new ways. This year, we hosted our first-ever Sub-I Bootcamp, developed a neuroanatomy curriculum, and created a novel multidomain assessment framework for residency applicants. @OU_Neurosurgery Looking forward to sharing more soon.

Dr. Roberto Heros wrote his memoirs: amazon.com/VERY-FORTUNATE-LI… . I fondly remember most of his stories from residency @UMneurosurgery. He knows me better than me - “did not tolerate fools well.” Dr. Heros is the greatest; I am one of the FORTUNATE ones to call him a mentor.

💬 Viewpoint by Canio Martinelli, MD, MSc, Vincenzo Carnevale, PhD, MSc, Alfredo Ercoli, MD, PhD, and Antonio Giordano, MD, PhD: #AI yields higher empathy scores in text assessments but cannot perform clinical examination or patient care. Clinician oversight and presence remain essential in #Medicine. ja.ma/4uml3yj
