Driving to MI with the family. They’re pretty excited to spend the car ride learning about all things freight.
Seems I’m at point in life where my kids try to guess “when” I’m going to fall asleep in a movie theater, rather than “if” I’m going to fall asleep in a movie theater.
Any time I’m having a bad day, I just reflect on the fact that I’m not brokering freight anymore and it immediately puts things back in perspective.
Broker: Our biggest objection to your training is that we could build this on our own.
Me: ...is that something you're going to do?
Broker: Lol, god no. But we could.
Rock solid logic.
Bought a standing desk a couple months ago. I never expected "standing for 8 hours" to make me feel like an out -of-shape old man, but here we are.
It amazes me how reactions to our training range from "This is amazing and you should charge more for it" to "There's literally no way I'd ever pay that much for training."
Is it like this for all products? It's gotta be, right?

Just because you SHOULD pay $1k on a certain lane (based on what the rest of the market is doing) doesn’t mean that’s what you WILL pay on that lane.
But, there's a time and a place for both of those data points.

I wrote a short blog about why not all profit is created equal.
Certainly not reinventing the wheel here, but I do think it's something brokers can overlook when chasing whatever profit they can get.

Speed and accuracy are the name of the game in brokerage.
If you're still arguing with your buddy about the rate, a more efficient broker has already quoted and won the load.
If you’re looking for some entertainment, as someone how they were trained to book freight vs. how it’s actually being done at their company.
Let’s get everything posted!
