I guess in retrospect the only good social media platform was Yo, the app where all you could do was say yo to each other

Knowing this timeline, they will probably just announce that they put Trump’s brain in JD Vance’s body and that’s what JD Vance’s statement about being ready to be president was actually about

Goddamnit, this is such a loss for music. Steve Albini was one of a kind and continued to surprise throughout his career, including his recent frank conversations about improving himself and being a better ally. Truly one of the all time greats pitchfork.com/news/steve-alb…

Steve Albini was involved in so many important records as a producer and musician but my favorite will always be Mclusky Do Dallas— an absolutely perfect album from beginning to end. I’ll be playing this on repeat all day m.youtube.com/playlist?list=…

Bandcamp employees say they've been locked out of critical systems and unable to do their jobs since Epic announced it was selling. This will hurt Bandcamp Fridays where 100% of the profits go to artists. They're bargaining over layoffs and severance. It's an epic mess.

We are so grateful to have a union.
"Since we are a union, Epic Games management is legally required to provide information and sit down with us to negotiate. It’s the end of 2 long days of talking with Epic Games management. We have 2 more dates next week. Thanks for the solidarity and support." -- Bandcamp United

@AskLyft My Lyft driver drove off with my pet cat still in the car. I was taking my cat to a vet appointment, I was sitting behind the driver and had the cat carrier on the floor of the passenger side back seat.

Musicians and indie labels will be watching close. We hope to see @Bandcamp keep its transparent terms, open platform, and ongoing investment in niche-oriented music journalism intact.

We look forward to welcoming @Bandcamp to Songtradr. Our shared music and artist-centric missions will enable us to provide artists and labels with even more opportunities songtradr.com/blog/posts/son…

Epic is also divesting from two previous acquisitions, sources say. It is selling music site Bandcamp to the marketer Songtradr and spinning out marketing company SuperAwesome to operate independently.

Every book I’ve ever read about Rolling Stone and Jann Wenner makes it abundantly clear that that institution succeeded in spite of Wenner not because of him; his talent has always just been for stroking celebrity egos and self-mythologizing

Looks Like Twitter Shadowbanned The New York Times, Which Advertises on Twitter

Analysis suggests Elon's free speech platform singled out the Times, blocking users from seeing links to the newspaper's website.

My mom’s biggest guilty pleasure was Jimmy Buffett so after she passed it was surreal to deal with Jimmy Buffett’s music being a trigger that would make me tear up. Feels even more surreal that my dad happened to be visiting today and everywhere we went was playing Jimmy Buffett
