🇨🇦 Anthropic is reportedly eyeing a giant AI data center near Edmonton, Canada.
The company behind Claude is said to be in talks to rent a huge campus northeast of the city from a Calgary-based developer.
It would run on its own 920-megawatt gas power plant, which got the green light last week and is expected to start running in late 2027.
That’s about double the power of the Nova Scotia site Anthropic signed a 20-year lease on just 2 weeks ago.
And it lines up with Anthropic’s plans to spend over $500 billion on computing power, with its stock market debut expected in mid-November.
AI runs on electricity, and Anthropic is shopping for a lot of it.
