Being a game studio in 2026 is a harder than ever, to the point where one single underperforming game can put the entire studio at risk. Dragon Age: Veilguard was the last game from BioWare to come out in 2024 with mixed reviews and it underperformed by 50% from EA’s expectations. 2 years later, EA shut down BioWare today. The industry is brutal, it’s no wonder why AAA game studios don’t take huge risks with their games.

This is what GTA: Vice City Definite Edition should've looked like I stumbled upon this cool graphics overhaul mod for the original GTA: Vice City that replaces the DirectX 8 renderer to DirectX 11 and brings a new set of features for the original game like: > Real lighting and shadows casted by the moon and sun > Physically based atmosphere > Simulated ocean with waves > Texture pack > HDR pipeline > Bloom and colour grading > 3D vegetation and grass > Dense traffic Experimental features like: > Swimming and underwater diving > Ragdoll Physics What's crazier to me is that one modder was able to do a better job in my opinion compared to what Grove Street Games did with the GTA Trilogy: Definite Edition back when it launched.
