من أكثر الأجزاء بشاعة التي يتم تداولها حاليًا هي رسالة بريد إلكتروني داخلية للـ FBI تلخص مقابلة مع ضحية مزعومة تسرد تفاصيل لا يمكن تخيلها عن طقوس شيطانية (تقطيع أقدام، أكل فضلات، وتشويه أطفال)، وصولًا إلى اتهام مباشر للرئيس الأسبق جورج بوش الأب بالاعتداء الجنسي.. لكن القراءة الصحفية الحذرة تفرض علينا النظر في الهوامش قبل المتن.. فالوثيقة نفسها تطلق صفارات الإنذار حول المصداقية.. الضحية تم إحضاره بواسطة مايكل مور (مؤسس موقع True Pundit المعروف بترويج نظريات المؤامرة)، سجل المحققون نفسهم ملاحظة حاسمة بأن الضحية لم يقدم أي دليل مادي أو شهود (بعرف الأمر شيه مستخيل) لذلك ورغم الهول الذي تثيره هذه السطور فهي تبقى في خانة الأقوال المرسلة غير المثبتة، ويجب الحذر من أن يكون تداولها الواسع مجرد قنبلة دخان لصرف الانتباه عن الوثائق الأخطر والأهم والأكثر وثوقية وتمس الأمن القومي الخاص بنا (مثل ابتزاز بيل غيتس والاختراق الاستخباراتي) التي تحمل أدلة إدانة حقيقية. تعلمت مع الوقت أن لا يوجد معلومة مجانية.. وأن حالة إغراق المشهد بتفاصيل هوليودية عن أكلة لحوم البشر بيضيع في زحامها الدليل الجنائي البارد عن قتلة الأوطان.. التركيز على هالروايات الهشة سهلة للتفنيد بيمثل طوق النجاة الأخير للمنظومة. ستتحول قضية اختراق استخباراتي دامغة إلى مجرد نظريات مؤامرة يسهل تسخيفها، لتضيع الجريمة السياسية الموثقة (ابتزاز غيتس واختراق كوشنر وجماعة حباد الدينية وبوتين) وسط ضجيج آخر. لا أقول أنه تداوله وكشفه مش مهم؛ طبعا مهم جدا تعرية هذه المنظومة وفضح كل لا أخلاقياتها وانحدارها القيمي وانحطاطها.. بس مهم ما ننسى كمان أن هناك مشهد أكبر وهناك من يحرص على تقديم ورقة مكان ورقة لصرف النظر عن الأخطر من خلال الانجرار خلف الروايات التي تخدم تبرئتهم عبر بوابة الجنون..

The day Swedish police raided The Pirate Bay I was sitting in an office at Universal Music in Norway. Everyone thought it was a turning point. Bunch of cops, every server seized. Done. Three days later the site was back online with a logo of a pirate ship firing at Hollywood and I watched a room full of executives try to process what that meant. They couldn't. Because they kept thinking about TPB like a business. Assets/things you can touch and seize and shut down. But there was just a bunch of dorks in a makeshift bunker that had built something that armed officers couldn't kill. That was the moment I knew how this story ended. Took me a bit to leave the music business but I already knew.
