Sure, it effects tax revenues, economic growth of the city + other legit metrics.
But that reality is abstract + obfuscated.

The right to life, liberty, and property means nothing if criminals and tyrants can violate them with impunity.
Capitalism relies on persuasion and voluntary trade. Force is justified only in response to those who initiate it.
Your argument amounts to claiming that a peaceful society shouldn't need police because everyone should be persuaded not to commit crimes.
That's an argument against reality, not capitalism.

If you’re wondering who is for the 5 ballot proposals, it’s a lot of special interest groups that back real estate developers and bike lobbyists. Most ballot proposals take 2-3 years to develop. These were thrown together in less than a year. Vote NO to all five as a way to tell Mamdani community engagement is critical to govt transparency and accountability.

How can anyone expect kids to get into specialized schools when NYC’s overall ELA proficiency in 2026 is 50.3%. Black students were about 8 points below that abysmal rate at 58.1%.
Meaning half of ALL the kids in NYC Public School grades 3 through 8 failed to meet the state’s basic proficiency standard in English Language Arts in 2026.
Banks & Wright should be amongst the last people on earth offering solutions.
Here’s a real radical solution:
How about we don’t continue to lower standards, not implement race based admissions and instead teach ALL these kids to read and write at grade level ?
