@johnwoolrich2's 'A Book of Inventions' is a ‘jigsaw’ gradually being pieced together to reveal a whole. It is the over-arching title of a set of six string quartets, of which Villanesca will be performed this Saturday 6th April @ACE_Foundation. Tickets: bit.ly/livingnotesconcertthr…
@ACE_Foundation is a stunning location for spending an evening listening to an eclectic mix of contemporary classical music. @NotesLiving is unique: Living composers attend the evening, to share with audiences the thought processes behind their works. bit.ly/livingnotesconcertthr…
This Saturday also features in its programme Philip Cashian’s ‘Samain’ for String Quartet, performed by the @BenyounesQtet. Samain was written in 2011, and is in four short movements. It’s based on the painting of the same name by surrealist Leonora Carrington. 🎨🎻
‘Dances on a Ground’ - The ground bass, a type of theme-and-variations favoured by English composers from Purcell to Britten, receives a 21st-century makeover next week. @_morgan_hayes’s piece features in bit.ly/livingnotesconcertthr… on Sat 6 April @ACE_Foundation @BenyounesQtet 🎶
