@denverpolice eventually showed up after reports of public drug use, active fires, and a vagrant carrying a massive kitchen knife.
Officers reportedly later called back and said there was little they could do because the fire was being used to cook and the knife was considered a “cooking utensil.” 🙄
Denver leadership continues to tolerate disorder in public spaces. Clear rules would mean no open fires (except designated grills in parks), no public drug use, and no large knives carried openly. Instead, officers are left with their hands tied while residents watch it play out.

Since launch 12 months ago, the spacecraft we designed and built for @NASA and @ucbssl for the @escapade_mars mission, have been in space making small course corrections.

Zeppelin were touring Houses of the Holy, released that March, and the 1973 North American tour was their biggest yet. A month earlier they had drawn more than 56,000 fans to Tampa Stadium, topping the attendance record the Beatles set at Shea Stadium in 1965. The run ended with three nights at Madison Square Garden in late July, filmed for The Song Remains the Same.
Every night Bonzo got his showcase with "Moby Dick," a drum solo that could stretch past 20 minutes, and the gong was there to bring the house down at the end.
