I have written to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi in response to his letter on Karnataka Rajyotsava, placing before him the key priorities of our State and seeking the Union Government’s support and timely intervention on several important issues. From Bengaluru’s infrastructure and connectivity needs, including a special financial package, to the Mekedatu, Kalasa-Banduri, Upper Bhadra, Upper Krishna and Yettinahole projects, I have highlighted the need to expedite pending approvals and financial assistance. I have also raised issues concerning rural development, drinking water, Jal Jeevan Mission, the proposed AI University in Bengaluru, AIIMS in Raichur, sugarcane farmers’ demands, fair pricing, ethanol policy and urgent drought relief. The letter also highlights the importance of strengthening education, skill development, research and employment opportunities for our youth. I have sought the Prime Minister’s personal intervention and reiterated my request for an all-party delegation from Karnataka to meet him and discuss the pressing concerns of our farmers and people. I believe that cooperative federalism must translate into meaningful support and equitable development for every State. Our Government remains committed to safeguarding Karnataka’s interests, addressing the needs of our people and ensuring balanced and inclusive progress across every region of the State.

ನಾಡಪ್ರಭು ಕೆಂಪೇಗೌಡ ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಪ್ರಾತಿನಿಧ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ದೂರುಗಳು ಕಂಡುಬಂದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನೇ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುವ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಒಂದು ಸಭೆಯನ್ನೇ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಸಭೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ, ಸೌಹಾರ್ದಯುತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ಕಳವಳ, ಕಾಳಜಿಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದೆವು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಸ್ಪಂದನೆ ಕೂಡ ಆಶಾದಾಯಕವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಕೆಂಪೇಗೌಡ ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ ನಿಯಮಿತ , ಮೆಂಝಿಸ್ ಎವಿಯೇಷನ್ , ಡಿ ಹೆಚ್ ಎಲ್ ಎಕ್ಸ್ಪ್ರೆಸ್ , ಶಾಪರ್ ಶಾಪ್ , ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಐರಲೈನ್ಸ್ , ತಾಜ್ ಸ್ಯಾಟ್ಸ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ ಕೆಟೆರೇರ್, ತಾಜ್ ಹೋಟೆಲ್ , ಹೆಚ್ ಎಂ ಎಸ್, ಟ್ರಾವೆಲ್ ಟೂರ್ (ಟಿ ಎಫ್ ಎಸ್ ), ಏರ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ ಸ್ಯಾಟ್ಸ್, ಬ್ಲೂ ಡಾರ್ಟ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ, ಡಬ್ಲ್ಯೂ ಯಫ್ ಎಸ್, ಏರ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ , ಟಿ ಆರ್ ಎಸ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ಮಾನವ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಈ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡದ ನೆಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಯುತವಾಗಿ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾವಕಾಶಗಳು ದೊರೆಯಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದು ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಹಕ್ಕೊತ್ತಾಯ. ಈ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಮುಖಂಡರ ಜೊತೆಗಿನ ಭೇಟಿ ಮೊದಲ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ. ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗಣನೀಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರಿಗೇ ನೀಡಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಈ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಲೇ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲೇ ಈ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಭರವಸೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು. ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದ ನಂತರ ನೀವೇ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯನ್ನು ಖುದ್ದಾಗಿ ನೋಡುವಂತೆ ನನಗೆ ಕೋರಿದರು. ಯಾವುದೇ ಗೊಂದಲ, ಅಪಪ್ರಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಎಡೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಡಬಾರದು ಎಂಬ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಆ ಭಾಗದ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಹ ಸಭೆಗೆ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿದ್ದೆವು. ಅವರೂ ಕೂಡ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದರು. ಯಾರು ಏನೇ ಹೇಳಲಿ, ನಾವು ಏನನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೋ ಅದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟತೆ ನಮಗಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಗಳ ಅರಿವೂ ನಮಗಿದೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿಯೇ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಈವರೆಗೆ ಸುಮಾರು ಮುನ್ನೂರೈವತ್ತಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವು ತಲುಪಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಎಲ್ಲೂ ಕೂಡ ಒಂದೇ ಒಂದು ಕಹಿ ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆದಿಲ್ಲ. ಎಲ್ಲ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಮುಖಂಡರು ಗೌರವಯುತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಖಾಸಗಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಮುಖಂಡರೂ ಸಹ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ಗೌರವದಿಂದಲೇ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಟೀಕೆಗಳು ಸಾಯುತ್ತವೆ, ಕೆಲಸಗಳು ಉಳಿಯುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂಬ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸವಿಟ್ಟವನು ನಾನು. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ವೇದಿಕೆ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಈ ಆಗ್ರಹ ಅಭಿಯಾನ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮುಂದಿನ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಭದ್ರ ಬುನಾದಿ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ನನ್ನದು. ಸಾಗುವ ಹಾದಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ದೂರವಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಅಭಿಯಾನವನ್ನು ಗೆಲುವಿನತ್ತ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸುವ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ, ಆತ್ಮಸ್ಥೈರ್ಯ ನಮಗಿದೆ.

Employer Arrested for Murder in Bengaluru After Allegedly Beating Keralam Worker to Death on Finding Him With Daughter ​Bengaluru ​A 22-year-old man from #Keralam died following an alleged assault at his employer's residence in #Yelahanka on Tuesday. Police have arrested his employer, a 45-year-old man, in connection with the incident and registered a case of murder. ​The deceased, identified as Kiran, was a native of Thiruvegappura in Keralam’s #Palakkad district. The accused, Anandraj (45), originally from #TamilNadu, runs a manufacturing unit for sweet corn preparation machines and carts in north #Bengaluru. ​According to preliminary reports, Kiran had been working at Anandraj's unit for the past few years along with his brother. The accused had recently become aware of a relationship between Kiran and his 19-year-old daughter, a student in a neighbouring city who was home for her holidays. ​On Tuesday, Anandraj and his wife reportedly left home in the morning after informing their daughter that they would be away for the day. Police said the couple returned a few hours later and found Kiran inside a room at their residence in Yelhanka. Police stated that following this discovery, the daughter was sent to a relative's house in Chikkaballapur, while Kiran remained at the residence. Police allege that Anandraj then assaulted him, causing multiple injuries that led Kiran to lose consciousness. He was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Hospital authorities later alerted the police. ​​Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East Division) G.K. Mithun Kumar confirmed the arrest, stating that preliminary findings indicate the act was premeditated. "Anandraj caught them together and intentionally committed the murder of Kiran. We are also probing whether other individuals were present during the crime," the DCP said. ​Speaking to the media, Kiran’s maternal cousin, Prasad, alleged that the crime was thoroughly calculated. He claimed that Anandraj had deliberately sent Kiran’s brother away to Uttar Pradesh on a delivery assignment earlier in the week to isolate Kiran and execute the attack without Interference. ​The Yelahanka police have registered a murder case and are continuing their investigation. @DCPNEBCP @BlrCityPolice

I am neither Kannadiga, nor do I have a software engineering background. So please take this with a pinch of salt. There are some similarities between the Kannada activists thinking non natives are stealing their jobs and MAGA. Especially important in this context is your primacy of merit claim. It needs to be scrutinized. IF Telugus / Malayalis / Tamils indulge in ethnic / linguistic nepotism in hiring, it is obviously going to piss off the locals. That's a big IF, which needs further data. It doesn't matter if the problem is small - one unfair hire is one too many. Local quotas may hurt competitiveness. Instead of quotas, hiring practices must be transparent. The HR should be like Caesar's wife - not only free of nepotism, but free of even suspicion of nepotism. I understand it is delusional to think that merit-first hiring is a panacea for all problems or that the politically motivated will automatically be satisfied with a fool proof process in hiring, promotion or other opportunities. But addressing the grievances is a better option than brushing them aside.
