I Had an Intimate Encounter With a Stranger During My Business Trip
While I was in Chicago for a two day business meeting and staying at a hotel downtown. After a long day, I went down to the hotel bar for a drink before calling it a night.
That's where I met her.
She sat a few stools away from me, wearing a black dress and a wedding ring. She looked to be in her mid-thirties. We started talking after she made a comment about how exhausting business trips could be.
Her name was Claire. She was also in Chicago for work and staying on the same floor as me.
Our conversation started casually, but something about the way she looked at me made me think she was interested. We joked about our jobs, complained about travelling, and eventually started flirting.
At one point, I noticed her wedding ring.
"Your husband didn't come with you?" I asked.
She looked at her hand and smiled faintly.
"No. He doesn't travel much."
She didn't say anything else, and I didn't push.
When the bartender announced he was closing, Claire picked up her bag and asked if I was heading upstairs. I said yes, and we walked towards the elevator together.

A plot of land can look cheap because nobody has bothered to ask why.
Is there proper access?
Are there drainage problems?
Is the area prone to flooding?
Are the documents genuine?
Is there actual demand for property in that location?
The biggest mistake is investing in property that becomes difficult to sell when you need your money back.

Host: “Have you ever experienced an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction?”
Woman: “Never! I'm always in control. Nothing embarrasses me!”
Host: “You look pretty confident tonight.”
Woman: “Of course! I know exactly what I'm doing.”
Suddenly… BOOM! Her microphone slips from her hand and disappears inside her dress! 😭😂
Woman: “OH MY GOD! WAIT! WHERE IS MY MICROPHONE?!”
Host: “Wait! Where did it go?”
Woman: “IT'S INSIDE MY DRESS! PLEASE, HELP ME!”
Host: “Ladies and gentlemen, we've officially lost communication with our guest!” 😂
The host gets up and tries to retrieve the microphone.
Woman: “Be careful! That's an expensive microphone!”
Host: “I'm trying! I've never had to rescue a microphone from a dress before!”
Woman: “Well, there's a first time for everything!”
After a few awkward moments, he finally retrieves it.
Woman: “Thank you! Can we please continue the interview?”
Host: “Absolutely! But next time, we're giving you a microphone with a seat belt!” 🤣
Woman: “You're never going to let me live this down, are you?”
Host: “Not a chance! This is going straight into the show's highlights!”
😂😂 Sometimes live television gives you comedy that no scriptwriter could ever create!

Customer: “Hi. I’m here to pick up the meat order I paid for yesterday. It should be under my name.”
Butcher: “Yes, I remember. About that order…”
Customer: “What happened?”
Butcher: “I made a mistake. I sold it to someone else this morning.”
Customer: “You sold my order?”
Butcher: “Honestly, I thought you weren’t coming. Another customer came in wanting almost the same amount, so I gave it to him.”
Customer: “But I already paid you. Why would you sell it?”
Butcher: “I know. I’m sorry. I can prepare another order, but it won’t be as large.”
Customer: “I didn’t order less meat just to spend more money. I’m having family over tomorrow, and I need the amount I paid for.”
Other Customer: “Sorry, are you talking about the meat I just bought?”
Customer: “I think so. Did you buy a large order from him this morning?”
Other Customer: “Yes. Beef, goat meat and some chicken. I paid before he packed everything.”...

Sandra brought out her phone and started recording me.
She looked at my simple dress and worn-out handbag before saying loudly:
"So this is the woman my husband used to fight everybody for? Honestly, marriage can humble somebody."
People at nearby tables started looking at us.
My ex-husband laughed and added, "You should have seen how she used to behave when we were married. She thought she was better than everyone."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
This was the same man who once promised to protect me. The same man whose clothes I washed, whose food I cooked, and whose family I treated like my own.
Now he was sitting in front of me, enjoying my humiliation.
Sandra opened her handbag, brought out some money and dropped it on the table.
"Take this. At least buy yourself something to eat on your way home. You look like someone who needs help."
I pushed the money back.
She laughed even louder.
My ex-husband then said something that completely broke me.
"Don't pretend to be proud. If you had stayed with me, you wouldn't be looking like this today."
I felt tears gathering in my eyes, but I refused to cry in front of them.
Then Sandra said, "Actually, I have something else to show you."
She unlocked her phone and played a video.
It was a recording of my ex-husband telling his friends that he had invited me out because he wanted his new wife to see the woman he had supposedly escaped from.
They had planned the entire outing as a joke.
