Europe says this is deterrence and preparedness. But when countries simultaneously expand conscription, recall older soldiers, prepare bunkers, restore land mines, consider hosting nuclear weapons and teach civilians how to survive war, one question becomes unavoidable: WHAT DO EUROPEAN GOVERNMENTS KNOW—or fear—THAT THEIR CITIZENS ARE NOT BEING FULLY TOLD?

That covered roughly 828,000 square miles of territory (about 530 million acres, or ~3 cents per acre at the time), nearly doubling the size of the country. The deal was signed on April 30, 1803. The Wall Street Journal has reported intelligence warnings about possible Russian sabotage and attacks in Europe. Germany has also accused Russia of drone incursions, which Moscow denies. These are serious allegations. Where is the publicly verifiable evidence? Intelligence assessments deserve scrutiny, especially when the consequences could bring NATO and Russia closer to direct conflict. Meanwhile, Russia alleges that Ukrainian attack drones have used NATO countries’ airspace, claims the countries concerned deny. Europe needs evidence, transparency and diplomacy. Without those, this increasingly looks like a dangerous campaign to prepare the public for war.

IS EUROPE TRYING TO START A WAR WITH RUSSIA? Ukraine’s strikes on St. Petersburg and drone incursions into NATO airspace raise an extremely serious question: How do we prevent this war from expanding? Russia has accused Baltic countries of allowing their airspace to be used for Ukrainian attacks. Those governments deny it. Russia also claims that some attacks have been launched from Estonia, Latvia and Finland. Imagine America’s response if an adversary attacked us through Canadian or Mexican airspace. EUROPE’S WEEKEND OF ANGER: RIOTS IN FRANCE AND ITALY AND UNREST BEYOND Burned buildings, looted businesses and injured police officers: demonstrations over living costs and public services have been overshadowed by violence in several European countries. 🇫🇷 FRANCE: More than 2,000 people arrested, around 600 police and emergency workers injured, and roughly 1,500 shops reportedly damaged or looted. Limoges’ 143-year-old town hall was devastated by fire. One protester died after cardiac arrest in Paris. 🇮🇹 ITALY: In Milan, masked rioters attacked police, looted shops and burned barricades near the famous Duomo. Clashes also erupted in Bologna and Turin. Updated reporting cited 28 arrests across several cities and 141 injured officers. These figures cover different areas and categories from the initial reports of roughly 50 people detained in Milan. 🇧🇪 BELGIUM: Police reported 195 arrests and detentions in Brussels and Liège after protests over education policies and budget cuts turned violent. Fires, barricades and vandalism were reported; five Brussels officers suffered minor injuries. 🇦🇱 ALBANIA: Anti-government protests in Tirana brought further clashes, burning vehicles and attacks on buildings. Authorities reported 272 people injured since Tuesday, including 169 police officers. Protesters are demanding action on corruption, university conditions and tuition fees. 🇵🇹 PORTUGAL: Demonstrations over housing costs, wages and pensions also brought crowds into the streets. Protesters established a tent camp in Lisbon, but the reporting reviewed does not establish comparable rioting there. This is only the beginning.
