Pileated woodpeckers need large hollow trees and snags for nest and roost sites.

The first Pacific lamprey passed over Soda Springs Dam since the new fish ladder opened in 2012.
It’s likely this is the first lamprey to migrate that high up in the North Umpqua River system in 70 years!
