I have compiled my interviews based on decades of living with disabilities, repeated homelessness, multiple mental illnesses, invasive addictions, and also new lived experience based advocacy and activism now that I am finally safe after two decades:

How do you become valid and worthy again in YOUR own mind?
Do you play video games to unwind? Baking or learning a new language?
Whatever you need to do, make sure to reward yourself for surviving. Treat yourself.
We aren't radicalized ... It's empathy, compassion and trust that has been made radical.

I taught my child from a very young age that he’s not obligated to hug/kiss anyone he doesn’t want to, especially family. It has hurt peoples feelings but I hope to god Gen Alpha is the group that normalizes setting boundaries. No is a complete sentence.

Forced sterilization did not end with Eve. Survivors, many of them Indigenous women, told Parliament it went on for decades after the eugenics laws were repealed. In 2025 the UN committee also raised the ongoing sterilization of people with disabilities in Canada. 13/16

He named the history too. Society’s past leads many to see people with an intellectual disability as “somewhat less than human,” he wrote, an attitude eugenics helped along. Alberta’s Eugenics Board ordered more than 2,800 people sterilized between 1929 and 1972. 10/16

Forty years ago today, the Supreme Court of Canada decided the case of a young woman from Prince Edward Island. The trial judge called her Eve to protect her privacy. Her mother had asked for court permission to have Eve sterilized, and the case went all the way to Ottawa. 1/16

Fucking Rollercoaster!!!On my way to the hospital to say my goodbyes and I get a call. She has advocated for herself to be sent to the satellite location while she waits for a bed in the special care unit. It has bought her at least one more night.
