Rev. Majed El Shafie just returned home from the region and our team created this video to help people understand how dire the situation has become. Since the spring, violence in Suwayda, Syria has been targeted at the longstanding Druze and Christian minorities. Radical Islamists formerly a part of ISIS and loyal to Syria's new President have been targeting these peaceful communities. Massacres have destroyed homes, places of worships, hundreds of people have been killed, and they perpetrators are repeating the ISIS playbook kidnapping women and girls. While the world has paid little attention, a small but determined group of people are doing what they can to help. OFWI has teams on the ground on both sides of the Israel-Syria border. While the security situation in Suwayda, Syria remains dire, our teams are able to communicate and where possible mobilize humanitarian relief supplies to help provide basic sustenance. Our teams are now preparing to rescue missions to return people kidnapped from their families and continue to by a strong voice for justice. We cannot do this work without your support.
