🇫🇷 Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), the student group behind the 2024 Gaza encampment at Columbia, sent the French high school students leading the protests sweeping France a list of lessons from the U.S. campus movement, "including what we failed to do." The group urged them to follow the money and trace "the supply chains that connect a classroom in Saint-Denis to a mine in the Sahel," then "disrupt them." It admitted that "the Student Intifada's downfall was our failure to widen our terrain of struggle beyond the campus gates," and told the students to "link the lycées to the factories, the factories to the ports, the ports to the ships." It warned them against the "liberal trap," recalling that "by the second week of our encampments, liberals had shifted the conversation away from Gaza to what protest is allowed to look like." It also told them not to let "union executives, party spokespersons, or televised commentators translate your rage," and to protect those taking the greatest risks, because "a movement that abandons its front line to save its respectability will soon find itself with neither." Writing as "veterans of the Student Intifada," CUAD said it saw its own struggle in students "blocking school gates, wearing keffiyehs and hoisting Palestinian flags." The revolt began in the working-class, largely immigrant suburbs of Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne, where, the letter says, "the police who patrol your gates are the descendants of those who patrolled the Casbah," a reference to French colonial rule in Algeria. "Do not demand a better future from those who are actively burning the planet and plotting your demise," it said. "Do not negotiate the terms of your future. Liberate the present."
To the brave youth in France, from veterans of the Student Intifada at Columbia University Please circulate widely

“Omar said the federal agents seized her phone, an old phone, her youngest daughter’s old phone, her husband’s notebooks and a camera he had received from his uncle. She also said they took a Somali phrase book for children, which her husband was using to learn the language. The Democrat said she was “surprised” when she was handed a receipt for the items. “To walk away with 17 items of, like, 10 that were just notebooks and like old phones was such a bizarre, bizarre thing,” she said. Asked about the raid on Omar’s house, the Justice Department told MS NOW in a statement last week that Homeland Security Investigations “executed a judicially authorized search warrant” and said it was “part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation.” A source told MS NOW the warrant listed potential violations involving immigration fraud, false statements in immigration proceedings and conspiracy. According to CNN, which cites people familiar with the probe, investigators are looking into whether Omar or her late father made false statements about her age during the citizenship process.” ms.now/news/ilhan-omar-raid-…

… who exactly do you think was fighting at the Marne, Verdun, Passchendaele and Dunkirk? How exactly do you think that Imperial France was made and sustained?
His ancestors died on the Marne, at Verdun, at Passchendaele and at Dunkirk for this.

this has nothing to do with them disagreeing with Trump politically all that much, Poppy and W. basically paved the way for him. It has more to do with their old school WASP obsession with propriety and “decency”.

BREAKING: A U.S. polling firm has admitted fabricating most of its election surveys, claiming it was an experiment to expose weak media scrutiny. Wedgewood Polling’s fake data entered major polling averages, including the NYT’s, and was cited by news outlets. The confession came after FiftyPlusOne confronted the firm with evidence of fraud. “Despite having no history, formal credentials, or real data behind the vast majority of our releases, Wedgewood Polling was added to major polling aggregators, including The New York Times, FiftyPlusOne, and VoteHub, and repeatedly treated as a legitimate data source,” the press release says.
