Congratulations Clay. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Sheffield for the Dark Enchantments conference later in the week.
I’m honored to have my poem about the fairy Mélusine included in Dark Enchantments: Gothic Folklore and the Monstrous Fairy-Tale, a conference with @SheffieldGothic, later to be published in a special issue by Twisted Ink. The conference keynote to be delivered by @DrSamGeorge1.

さてハロウィン週間。資料をあさりますと、昔はネコランタンや猫面が流行っていたようですが、最近はあまり見かけない感じです。ハロウィンモチーフとしての黒猫は健在であります。

In Chinese mythology, daylight began not with the sun, but with the opening of a dragon’s eyes. Zhulong (燭龍), the Torch Dragon, was a cosmic deity with a human face and a serpent’s body. When he opened his eyes, day dawned; when he closed them, night descended. 1/2 #mythology

Dracula never speaks these lines in the 1897 novel but there is throwaway moment In the book where he says 'I too can love'. Until this film we had never seen Dracula as a love beyond the grave story but its #loveneverdies theme has endured.
"He cruzado océanos de tiempo para encontrarte. No me importa el cielo ni la salvación: tú eres mi vida, mi amor y mi eternidad."

VINTAGE HALLOWEEN FAIRIES reminding us that fairies and goblins were once as likely to be found on #Halloween cards as vampires and witches!! At a time when the veil between our world & the shadow world is extremely thin there are likely to be encounters between humans & fairies #FolkloreSunday
