It wasn’t until very recently that India managed to get all of its school age children into compulsory schooling (late 2000s). As a result, Indians age 15-24 have a quantum leap in literacy and numeracy levels compared to the rest of the Indian population.
States like Rajasthan have a 22 percentage point difference in literacy amongst Gen Z and the rest of the population. I wonder how that impacts intergenerational dynamics.
As recently as 20 years ago, only 83 % of primary school age kids were actually attending school. Learning outcomes were also poor. A significant % of kids had to drop out of *primary school* for financial reasons
When I was in 1st standard (grade) in Mumbai (1998), the attendance rate was even lower.
Young kids not being in school was so normalized that my private school had informal employees (teacher's assistants) who had kids my age (7) tagging along in the school assisting them with their jobs.
Basically, schooling was a “scarce” resource in India. There was no expectation that every child would be schooled

A more equal income distribution, a narrower gap between the rich and the poor in consumption.
With a Gini Index score of just 23, India records lower income inequality than major economies such as the US, China and the UK. A notable comparison in the global inequality landscape.

Men leaving India's farms since 2021:
> farm: −5.4 pts,
> manufacturing: +2.6
> services: +2.8
Watch Chhattisgarh: farm share 53.3% in 2025, 37.1% in Apr–Jun 2026. This is a big shift, if this not seasonal.

This was an interesting stat, but India was missing, so I added it using AI. JUST WOW !
Of course volume is not that high.

Remember when Germany was known for its cars? Not anymore, German vehicle production has fallen by 31% since 2015, the steepest drop among major producers, while China’s has risen by more than 40%. The same pattern appears elsewhere. Machinery and plant engineering remain well below earlier peaks as Chinese rivals close the technology gap and undercut on price. Chemicals, the classic early-warning sector, have seen multi-year output declines, with capacity utilization stuck around 70–75% amid rising pressure from Chinese overcapacity. Energy-intensive industry overall remains roughly 15% below 2018–2022 levels.
The old German model of high-quality engineering and reliable exports is under structural strain. High energy and labor costs, stagnant productivity, dense regulation, and years of complacency have eroded competitiveness, while adaptation to electrification and software has lagged.
What has expanded is the public sector. Employment in government, education, and health has grown even as manufacturing and private jobs have shrunk. Aggregate growth since 2020 has come almost entirely from higher public consumption and investment, financed by rising debt, private-sector contributions have been negative.
This is not sustainable. Without lower energy and regulatory costs and genuine pressure to innovate, the relative decline of Germany’s industrial core will continue. Higher debt masks the decline for now, but Germany without its industry won’t stay prosperous forever.

No, this is not true. The NDTV screenshot is fabricated. No such report or official announcement exists of CM Joseph Vijay proposing a complete ban on RSS activities.
He chaired a cabinet meeting on 29 Oct focused on basic amenities, industry, tenders and a social justice survey. His government has restricted some RSS event permissions (as prior ones did), prompting Madras HC orders allowing marches, but there is no total ban. Earlier similar claims were also debunked.

He came to Odisha to inaugurate a data dump yard centre.
He will visit Gujarat to inaugurate a research centre.
Priority are clear
Discrimination is in their blood.
What does the next big leap in India's animal husbandry and dairy sector look like?
To know that, come to Banaskantha, Gujarat!
A 127-acre, Bovine Breeding and Research Centre is being launched tomorrow, 30th October.
It is a great example of how science and innovation are furthering the welfare of our farmers.

The problem with highlighting drawbacks in Indian city infrastructure even basic ones like roads and footpaths is -
If you compare with a developing countries like SriLanka, Thailand or Malaysia people will defend that it has been developed by China, they have less population, blah blah blah.
If you compare with bigger economies like Japan, China, US then people will defend that they are developed countries so it's wrong to compare our cities with them.
So what do people really want Indian cities to be compared with? Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau or Angola?
If yes then we should be happy wherever we are and not expect anything.

Nandini’s ₹8 per litre milk price hike from November 1 is a recurring burden on Karnataka’s households. A family buying one litre daily will spend approximately ₹240 more every 30 days, or ₹2,920 annually. At two litres daily, that becomes ₹5,840 extra each year. Think of the lower middle classes.
For toned milk moving from ₹46 to ₹54, the increase is roughly 17.4%. Salaries and pensions rarely jump overnight by that percentage. Consumers must absorb the difference, reduce consumption or cut spending elsewhere.
The impact extends beyond milk packets. Tea shops, restaurants and sweet shops face higher costs, creating pressure to raise prices. Families could therefore pay more both at home and outside.
Move benefits the farmer lobby and ₹7 of the increase will reach them. But consumer affordability matters more. Benefiting a few and hurting the vast majority is not good politics.

I genuinely wish for a French Revolution in our cities. Our MPs, MLAs, and babus deserve this.

I am far less skeptical of Operation Sindoor than I was of the Balakot operation. The Indian win in Op Sindoor is backed up by OSINT esp satellite imagery. I think we got Sindoor right after losing aircraft initially.
I think we lost the Air Battle and lost a lot of aircraft against 🇵🇰 on 6-7 May 2025
I think 90% of Sindoor Narrative by India is doubtful now.
Modi did the same thing against General MM Narvane too after the Galwan conflict
He didn't nominate MMN for CDS which was assumed to be routine by then
Otherwise why should he humiliate someone who destroyed 11 Pakistani Air Bases and did so much damage to Pakistan?
The man should be a national hero and Modi should have attended his farewell himself right ?

The Actual Major Report of World Bank that People should wait for in 2026 is the B-READY (Of Ease of Doing Business), in their last Edition in 2020, We went from Having a Worse Rank than Haiti in Access to Electricity in 2013 to Faster Construction Permits than China in 2020!
According to World Bank's latest report, India's extreme poverty has fallen from 27.6% to just under 2.6%.
And for Indians living under Rs. 400 a day (lower middle income), it has come down from 57.7% of the population to 16.1%.
Remarkable achievement by India given the rupee depreciated and the inflationary pressure of a fast growing economy.
