Our debate club is going strong! Today’s serious (and delicious) topic: chocolate vs. sweets. Children practiced active listening, respectful responses, and timing their input—no interruptions, just thoughtful arguments. Great progress all around!
Our first debate club was a huge success! The children explored how we use our body to talk, the power of thinking before speaking, and choosing the right language—all through fun, engaging games. Can’t wait for the next one! #DebateClub #SpeakingSkills @bcw_cat
The children used their prediction and observation skills in 2 exciting investigations! They watched in awe as colours swirled in milk with washing-up liquid, discussing the changes. Then, they explored the water cycle, using shaving foam ‘clouds’ to see how rain forms @bcw_cat
Reception became real scientists today! They carried out an exciting investigation and spent the afternoon observing changes. Careful watching, questioning, and predicting—science in action! #ScienceWeek #YoungScientists @bcw_cat
Another fantastic day of Science! Science met oracy as classes shared their learning with different year groups. The children loved presenting their work, building confidence, and inspiring each other. A great mix of science and speaking skills! #ScienceWeek #Oracy @bcw_cat
Science Week is off to an incredible start! Hands-on experiments, practical learning, and the joy on the children’s faces have been amazing to see. And the best part? There’s still so much more to come! #ScienceWeek #STEM @bcw_cat
