In a keynote address during the Chemical Weapons Demilitarisation Conference, @OPCW_DG Sabrina Dallafior stressed that, as the global chemical weapons watchdog, the OPCW is needed now more than ever. While declared stockpiles have been destroyed, new challenges demand vigilance, cooperation, and innovation to uphold the global norm against chemical weapons.

Scientific progress must continue to be matched by responsible stewardship. Speaking at the Royal Society of Chemistry in London, @OPCW_DG Sabrina Dallafior highlighted that preventing the re-emergence of chemical weapons is a shared responsibility. Through science, responsible innovation, and international cooperation, the OPCW, the scientific community, and States Parties can ensure chemistry continues to serve humanity, not harm it.
