ultimately one of the main points of this revenue is to build up a reserve of complementary assets (gold, usd, staked sol...) that can be used to buy back ORE
you can think of it as a set of limit orders that buy back ORE and bury it during downturns
the endgame is for the Reserve to have enough buying power to absorb the sellable supply at a defined minimum price before it is depleted
once it reaches and sustains that point, ORE's appeal as a savings asset becomes stronger, because holders have a floor against which to assess their downside risk
if there’s one metric to track right now it’s the growth rate of this Reserve
the Reserve however, is only half the story. if building it up is defence, then the offence lies in establishing a long-term monetary premium
ore's potential for a monetary premium is strong, thanks (in part) to its fair launch, slow initial distribution, credible long-term scarcity, and growing mining participation (particularly from non-professionals)
to see this clearly you also have to see why it makes sense for something like ore to exist in the SoV design space (read this essay for my longer form thoughts here: xitter.cf/sacha/status/211252140…)
in sum, continuing to establish this monetary premium is the primary objective. the Reserve just preserves some of the capital generated along the way (in effect turning activity during the bull into buying power during the bear)
naturally, offence and defence here are intertwined, in the sense that this buying power also reinforces ORE's memetics and appeal as a long term SoV
A bet on $ORE is one on a revenue-generating SoV protocol which survived a 95% collapse in both earnings and token price and has now stabilized and is recovering.
ORE generates over $40m in annualized token holder revenue while trading at roughly $60m FDV.

While most weren’t originally designed as money, @ORE on Solana was built for that purpose from day one 👇
Alpenglow is live. A fitting milestone to revisit ORE's role in Solana's early scaling challenges.
In April 2024, demand for ORE mining flooded Solana with activity, leaving users struggling to get transactions through. @HardhatChad recalls how those events helped kick off the push for greater bandwidth and lower latency.

Here's the thing right. And where I see things going.
As the $ORE reserve builds alongside the treasury and LPs continue to expand, we won't need Wall Street to underwrite the floor, buy the dips, or legitimize the asset.
The protocol becomes its own structural buyer through continuous buybacks and productive liquidity. Old BTC, on the other hand, still depends on external institutional capital, ETF inflows, bank custody, and corporate treasury buyers like MicroStrategy to supply the marginal demand and expand its bid.
ORE is building that support directly into the system so the next legs up can compound on-chain without waiting for the next Saylor cycle or regulatory green light or outside narrative.
Ore is future proof in more ways than one.
🚨LATEST: Michael Saylor says Bitcoin’s NEXT BULL RUN is beginning after a $20,000 rebound from its 200W MA.
“It bounced off the 200-week moving average… we rallied about $20,000 beyond that, so we think we’re at the beginning of the next bull run now,” he told Charles Schwab.
He argues earlier policy pressures and competition for capital from AI are easing, while bank custody, Bitcoin-backed credit, supportive regulatory guidance and tokenization are creating fresh tailwinds.
Saylor says Strategy holds roughly 845,000 BTC and $5 BILLION in cash, putting total reserve assets above $75 billion.

“I agree with @toly’s perspective that: “a store of value, that is awesome, could be built on top of Solana. And could surpass Bitcoin.” And I think that ORE is the only plausible project that could achieve this.”
Amazing write up. Worth a read.

The ORE Reserve belongs to ORE holders, and it is worth being precise about what that means. No holder can redeem a slice of the Ore Reserve. It works for every holder instead!
A share of mining revenue, raised from 1% at launch to 15% today, goes into the Reserve rather than straight into buybacks. It sits on chain as buy orders below the market, split between SOL, JitoSol, dollars (USDC)and tokenized gold(GLDx). When ORE dips, those orders buy it, and about once an hour 90% of that ORE is buried and 10% goes to stakers.
As of today the Reserve holds over $350K and stands ready to buy roughly 6,500 ORE. Every position can be checked on chain.
@ORE says it is exploring ways for holders to help decide what the Reserve holds. I think that is the right direction.

A closer look at where ORE Reserve liquidity sits.
$374K in standing bids across 118 price levels, with roughly two-thirds concentrated between $50 and $100.
The largest concentration sits between $80 and $110, with over $154K in resting buy orders.
The best store of value need not be the best spending asset. ORE separates money from consensus. Fixed supply, fair distribution, minimal trust assumptions.
And an evolving Reserve introduces a question: what should a store of value look like decades from now?
