I made the decision to have Democracy Docket take down its paywall through Election Day. Read it, enjoy it, share it -- all for free.

Big stick insect on my battered van this morning.
The poor creature, lost a couple of legs. I moved it into the tree, it seemed ok.

And the maga nasties are calling me all kinds of names:).
They really do not want people like me to vote at all. What gets you? The immigrant part? The woman part? The lesbian part? The communist bullshit? I know- the Democrat part. If somehow I were a trumper, omg… they would all be oh so supportive… too funny, really.
And to the maga nasties out here who are suggesting I am not an American since I also have a Czech citizenship and therefore I voted illegally here in Florida. I got news for you. Melania trump is also a dual citizen- of US and Slovenia.
So yes-
I can vote, I have voted and will be voting democratic as long the GOP remains a party of pedophile and rapist protectors. Among other things.

Trump on solar panels:
“They kill all the animals. The animals jump on them and they fry.”
This belongs up there with they’re eating the dogs, the cat; and schools are doing transgender surgeries.

Is there anyone just like me?
I don't argue with people on here from the hard right; you'll never change their thought process. They're in an alternative universe also known as la- la- land, waste of freaking time, block them if you have time 👍😎 especially #phon supporters – at Brisbane, Queensland

BREAKING: The Pentagon is preparing for a major war that could CRIPPLE America’s power grid, collapse supply chains, and disrupt critical infrastructure on U.S. soil, developing plans to keep military bases operational for 90 DAYS without outside assistance. The initiative, called FORTRESS, includes backup power, fuel reserves, and preparations to convert civilian factories into wartime production facilities.

Update on my family of Tawny Frogmouths, for anyone interested😀🙏
Our Froggy family may well be of Catholic faith, as they seem to be expanding their family, by the day.
In an effort to not spook them, it is hard to get a close look at them, but there are at least 2 chicks of different ages in the nest, possibly 3.
It is fascinating to see how rapidly they change & evolve.
Despite the very flimsy nest, they have endured all sorts of bad weather (since we noticed them there) cold wet & windy, but they all seem really healthy & happy.
The Froggy dad, stands guard over the brood from about a metre, above (we don't own that one; He is on higher perches😬🙄) and although he never seems to move, he must do the hunter gathering thing, after dark, because they seem content.
Amazing how such a simple thing in nature, has brought so much joy to our neighbourhood, yet probably occurred in our tree, unnoticed by us, forever.😀🥰

Tomorrow, Australia joins a global strike against war.
On Friday, Australia’s Maritime Workers Union (MUA) in Melbourne will join dockworkers at 111 ports in 22 countries and regions on five continents who will stop work in a coordinated strike against war.
▪️More than 25 dockworkers’ unions have now signed on, in over 200 ports from Marseille to Mumbai, Hamburg to Montevideo, Melbourne to Oakland.
▪️Their demand is simple: no weapons and no military cargo through their ports — without the workers who load and unload it, nothing moves.
▪️The unions point to escalating wars in Ukraine and the Middle East and the danger of a generalized war.
▪️They condemn Israel’s new crimes in Hebron, carried out with the backing of the US, NATO and the EU.
▪️Israel’s lockdown of the city is now in its sixth day, with more than 3,000 Palestinians displaced, according to the UN. Palestinian unions have endorsed Friday’s action.
▪️The unions are calling on workers and young people everywhere to stand with the dockworkers, saying:
“Ports for peace and the peoples, not launching-pads for war.”
NEW: On Friday, dockworkers at 111 ports in 22 countries and regions on five continents will stop work in a coordinated strike against war, according to the most recent information from the organizing unions.
More than 25 dockworkers’ unions have now signed on, from Marseille to Mumbai, Hamburg to Montevideo, Melbourne to Oakland. Days ago the count stood at about 100 ports in 17 countries, and that figure doesn’t include the dozens of unions in other sectors that have pledged support. Their demand is simple: no weapons and no military cargo through their ports. Nearly everything the world ships passes through the docks, and without the workers who load and unload it, nothing moves.
In France, the main dockers’ union says the country’s ports will be 95% shut. Italy, India, Greece and Turkey face 24-hour strikes, and Morocco and Cyprus will see stoppages of up to two hours, with rallies planned in port cities around the world. In Greece, metalworkers, ship-repair workers and young people are joining the dockers, and in the US, ILWU Local 10 is striking in Oakland and San Francisco. The unions are working from the Istanbul Declaration, signed in May, with each one deciding for itself how to take part. They are also fighting for their own jobs, against cuts from automation and for contracts, raises, shorter hours and safety.
The unions point to escalating wars in Ukraine and the Middle East and the danger of a generalized war. They condemn Israel’s new crimes in Hebron, carried out with the backing of the US, NATO and the EU. Israel’s lockdown of the city is now in its sixth day, with more than 3,000 Palestinians displaced, according to the UN. Palestinian unions have endorsed Friday’s action.
In Italy, the fight has spilled beyond the docks. The union USB has called for a nationwide general strike. Last night, the Italian government ordered transport workers back on the job last night. USB said it would defy the order and accept the steep penalties.
The unions are calling on workers and young people everywhere to stand with the dockworkers, saying “Ports for peace and the peoples, not launching pads for war.”
I’m reporting from Calabria, Italy, and I will be in Genoa tomorrow ahead of the strike to report on the ground during the mobilzation.

New browser tool lets users freeze the internet in 2022 to escape AI-generated content.
Say “goodbye” to “AI slop”.
A new browser extension called Slop Evader lets you surf the web as if AI never existed. Created by artist and researcher Tega Brain, it automatically filters Google search results to show only pages published before November 30, 2022—the day generative AI went mainstream.
The result is a quieter, more human internet: no AI-written listicles, no synthetic stock photos, no deepfake videos or bot-penned product reviews. Just the pre-2023 web, frozen in time.
Slop Evader (and similar tools like Kagi’s SlopStop) reflects a growing backlash against the flood of low-quality, machine-generated content that has overwhelmed search engines and social feeds.
Brain stresses that the extension isn’t meant to be a forever solution. Instead, it’s a deliberate act of protest—an easy way for everyday users to reject the creeping artificiality of today’s web and demand something better. You lose access to anything new, of course, but for many, the trade-off feels worth it: clarity over noise, authenticity over algorithm.
The first video ever uploaded to YouTube was 19 seconds of a guy talking about elephants. Eighteen months later, Google paid $1.65 billion for the site.
April 23, 2005. Jawed Karim, one of YouTube's three co-founders, stands in front of the elephants at the San Diego Zoo.
He says the cool thing about them is their really long trunks. Then he wraps up: "That's pretty much all there is to say."
Nobody knew they were watching history.
In October 2006, Google bought YouTube for $1.65 billion in stock. Karim had already left for grad school at Stanford. He reportedly took home about $64 million.
He never uploaded another video. His channel still has exactly one.
Today that clip has over 447 million views. And when Karim disagrees with the platform he built, he still writes about it in that video's description.
Watch the clip. The most boring video ever made, or the most valuable?

🚨 BREAKING: ABSOLUTE BLOODBATH AT THE U.S. STOCK MARKET OPEN!
🇺🇸 OVER $410,000,000,000.00 HAS BEEN WIPED OUT FROM U.S. STOCKS AS GOOGLE CRASHED 13% AND U.S. PCE INFLATION HIT A 4-MONTH HIGH!
GOOGLE'S SHARES ARE PLUNGING AFTER DISAPPOINTING EARNINGS, SLOWING ADVERTISING GROWTH, AND MASSIVE AI SPENDING!
THE COMPANY SPENT OVER $51 BILLION ON CAPITAL INVESTMENTS IN JUST ONE QUARTER!
MEANWHILE, U.S. PCE INFLATION HAS RISEN TO 3.6%, PUTTING EVEN MORE PRESSURE ON THE FED TO RAISE INTEREST RATES!
HIGHER INFLATION AND GROWING CONCERNS ABOUT AI SPENDING ARE PUTTING MASSIVE PRESSURE ON U.S. STOCKS!
THIS COULD BE JUST THE BEGINNING OF A MUCH BIGGER SELLOFF!
🚨 THE NEXT STOCK MARKET CRASH HAS ALREADY BEGUN UNDER THE SURFACE!
Look at the chart. Same script, three times running:
→ 2020: new ATH → -36%
→ 2022: new ATH → -28%
→ 2024: new ATH → -22%
→ 2026: new ATH →?
The trigger changes every time. COVID, Fed hikes, tariffs. The ending never does.
And Bitcoin fell harder on every single one of them.
Now connect what's actually in front of us:
→ S&P slid from 7,850 to 7,620 on the Oct 23 close
→ Brent at $116, highest since 2022
→ Fed hiked in September, 10Y near 5%
→ 10 stocks make up 40%+ of the index, and 10 names drove roughly 70% of the rally since March
→ 84% of stocks are already sitting 10%+ below their highs
That last one is the tell nobody talks about. The index looks healthy because a handful of names are carrying it. Underneath, most of the market is already broken.
Run the same-size drawdown again, -21.6%, and the S&P lands near 6,150.
That's below the March low. The entire rally, erased.
Here's how it actually unfolds. The crowd waits for confirmation. And by the time everyone agrees it's a crash, the first wave is already behind them.
Then come the excuses: "Just a healthy correction.", "Buy the dip."
That's how every major dump begins. Not with panic. With denial.
When the real flush confirms, I'll post the level I'm watching.
Turn notifications on.

The MSM have ‘normalised’ Hanson’s vile racism by referencing her bigotry as ‘honesty’, ‘common sense’ or ‘speaking for ordinary Australians’
It has NEVER been any of that
It’s only EVER been ugly, unacceptable bigotry….with an MSM megaphone
