BARNSLEY FC ARE SLEEPWALKING TOWARDS LEAGUE TWO... Surely I'm not the only Barnsley fan looking at this club and wondering what the hell is going on anymore? We're 23rd in League One, the results are getting worse, the defence is still a shambles and there's a genuine threat of dropping into the fourth tier. Let that sink in for a minute. This hasn't happened overnight. Years of questionable recruitment, constant changes and a squad that looks nowhere near good enough have brought us here. Yet we're still left asking the same questions about direction, leadership and who's actually accountable. I'm not interested in hearing that we're only Barnsley or that we need to be patient. Nobody expects miracles, but we should expect a club with a plan and people capable of delivering it. January is massive. The work needs to start now. Identify what's missing, get the right players lined up and bring in the quality and experience needed to keep us out of serious trouble. These current problems have haunted us for months. The board needs to take responsibility, recruitment needs to deliver, and the manager and players need to start showing us something. What worries me most is how many Reds are losing faith. You can't blame people for getting fed up when they see the same mistakes and no convincing sign of where we're heading. I've supported this club through enough ups and downs to know relegation doesn't happen overnight. It happens when warning signs are ignored and action comes too late. We cannot let this club drift into League Two because the people running it failed to act. Come on, Barnsley. Sort it out. We've had enough. #BarnsleyFC #COYR #OakwellHub

I honestly think we're at the point where supporters' groups need to start having serious conversations about how we make our voices heard at Oakwell. The frustration is there for everyone to see, but what are we actually doing about it? I feel fucking helpless watching this club go backwards, and the thought of us just sitting back and accepting it is depressing. Part of me thinks the board need to feel properly unwelcome. Not through threats or abuse, but through a united fanbase making it absolutely clear that enough is enough. They need to understand just how much faith they've lost. But here's the problem. Would a protest actually change anything? And if the owners decided they'd had enough and walked away, who the hell would take over? Who would want to inherit a club in this state, with all the problems that need sorting? That's the dilemma. We can't just keep accepting what's happening, but we also can't blindly demand people walk away without knowing what comes next. I want to see supporters united, the Trust asking difficult questions and the people running this club being held accountable. No more sitting quietly and hoping things magically improve. We need to make our voices heard, but we also need a realistic plan for what comes next. Because this is our club, and the last thing any of us wants is to protest ourselves into an even bigger crisis. Surely I'm not the only one who feels this helpless? 🔴 #BarnsleyFC #COYR

GOOD RIDDANCE. 👋 Jon Flatman arrived at Oakwell with responsibility for driving this football club forward. Instead, he leaves with Barnsley in the relegation zone, eight games without a win and a club crying out for direction, accountability and competence. The disconnect between the boardroom and the supporters has become impossible to ignore, and the standards at this football club have fallen nowhere near where they should be. This isn't about celebrating someone's departure. It's about demanding better for Barnsley Football Club. Now get the next appointment right. No more excuses. No more incompetence. This club deserves better. #BarnsleyFC #COYR #OakwellHub

Worrying thing for Barnsley is that, for the last couple of years at least, opposing managers will have said to their players: 'these lot will always give you a chance.' #barnsleyfc

I'm fucking sick of it. And I don't say that lightly. I've supported Barnsley for years, and I never thought I'd reach a point where I'd feel like this about my own club. But honestly, I'm struggling to find anything to enjoy about it anymore. Five league games without a win. Another defeat at Oakwell. We can't defend, we struggle to score, and there's very little about this team that gives me any confidence things are going to improve. But the football isn't even what angers me most. It's the people running this club. I genuinely loathe this board and what they've done to my relationship with Barnsley FC. I just don't understand why they're here or what they're actually trying to achieve. Where's the ambition? What's the plan? Because from where I'm sitting, it feels like we're going backwards with absolutely no sign of anyone taking responsibility for it. And the players? I'm sorry, but the quality of footballers representing this club is at an all-time low in my eyes. I look at this squad and wonder how we've ended up here. There's a real lack of quality, and we're now at a point where I'm genuinely worried about where this season is heading. Those early fears of a relegation battle are starting to feel very real. Five games without a win, and we're looking like a side that could get dragged into something far worse than a disappointing season. I've always accepted that supporting Barnsley comes with its ups and downs. That's football. But there's a difference between having a bad spell and feeling like the people in charge are taking the club nowhere. And that's where I am now. I've completely fallen out of love with it. That hurts to admit as someone who's given years of support to this club. I want to look forward to watching Barnsley. I want to feel proud of the team and believe there's something worth building towards. Instead, I'm sat here feeling angry, disillusioned and wondering what the actual point is anymore. I don't expect miracles. I don't expect us to win every week. I just want to see some ambition, some direction and some evidence that the people running this club give a shit about where we're heading. Right now, I see none of it. And if the board think supporters are going to keep accepting this indefinitely, they're badly mistaken. I'm not falling out of love with Barnsley because we lose football matches. I'm falling out of love with what this club has become. And that's a fucking sad place to be as a Barnsley fan. 🔴⚪

I've supported Barnsley for over 30 years, and I've never felt so disconnected from my club. Judging by these responses, I'm clearly not alone. This goes far beyond losing to Cambridge. People are losing faith, losing patience and, sadly, losing their love for something that's been part of their lives for decades.

We were destined to win the FA cup in 2013 if it wasn't for City cooking the books! We might have finished 21st place in the Championship... But we were bound for FA glory as we travelled to the blue side of Manchester! The title was cruelly taken away from us and the opportunity to represent the club in the UEFA cup! Throw the book at them and add the title to our FA cup trophy win in 1912! #Barnsleyfc #OakwellHub #ManCity #Justice

Absolutely gutting. 😩 Posh are level. A superb delivery from the impressive Harley Mills and Danny Ormerod gets across his man to power the header home. We’ve let them back into this. After that second-half performance, that’s a proper sickener!

Absolutely buzzing with that one. 👏 A superb counter-attacking goal and, on this second-half display, thoroughly deserved. O’Riordan does the hard work heading the corner clear, Clayton Taylor drives forward brilliantly and carries us up the pitch before finding Reyes Cleary. Cleary then does the rest, beats his man, and fires past the keeper to slot it home. That’s proper Barnsley football

GOOOOOAL! 🔴 Reyes Cleary levels it! Brilliant work from Cleary down the left. Drives into the box, skips past one defender before putting it through the legs of another and finding the bottom right corner. That’s exactly what we needed. After letting Posh turn it around, we’ve shown the character to get ourselves back into it. Game on.

62 seconds! 😱 Touré has just fired wide, Posh tap the goal kick short to Alex Bass and McGeehan is straight onto him. Bass gets tackled six yards out, the ball bounces off the bar and McGeehan heads it in from practically on the line! Five goals already this season for the captain. What a start. Absolutely crazy from Posh. 🤦‍♂️

GOAL Peterborough! And we’ve completely thrown away the lead. Superb free-kick from Harley Mills, Flavell beaten at the back post and Danny Ormerod heads Posh in front. From 1-0 up after 62 seconds to 2-1 down. Really disappointing. We’ve handed Peterborough the momentum and now we’ve got a job on our hands.

GOAL Peterborough! Posh level and Flavell has dropped an absolute clanger. Mendonca's cross comes in, it spills straight into danger and Harry Leonard is there to punish us. You simply cannot be gifting chances like that. We had the perfect start and then hand them a way back into it. So frustrating. 🤦‍♂️
