I am a fan of Harry Potter, and I thought about joining the RP many times, but was unsure to do so at the time. But then again… I am at the point where idgaf what people say about me, I am not here to please others, I am here to write and have fun.
ooc. I feel uneasy because this is a truly delicate subject, but what matters most is how people behave. Today, someone asked me if I’d been cancelled in the Harry Potter fandom for being a part of it and mentioned that they are actually afraid to join. That is unacceptable. I understand the concerns, but to be afraid to join a fandom—something meant to be fun? That’s just not right. Being active in this fandom does not mean that someone supports JKR, nor does it mean they agree with her on anything.
This fandom is home to many incredibly talented authors who stand against her—myself included. Please, let’s not ruin this space with hasty, unfounded judgments; let’s not turn it into a place that people are afraid to join.
