I almost caused a freeway pileup after I caught a glimpse of a flat fly on my forehead in the rearview mirror. I'm usually OK with bugs but their flatness and skitteriness is a horror show.
I'm sure I've told this before but I was reminded of this story recently, so I'm going to tell it again;
My trainee and I were sent to the hospital because they had a patient in the ICU who had an animal at home.
She then told me that the patient had died in the time we'd left the hospital. You will never convince me that he wasn't hanging on for someone to save his cat. He'd been in hospital for 3 weeks and this is the moment he died?
