Rando on Twitter: "gee...for a sociologist you're not very sociable."
I've studied people for far too long to be sociable. I drink too much, I swear a lot. I don't take kindly to the wilfully ignorant. If you want 'sociable', go talk to a guidance counselor or something.
"So a man called your baby ugly, did he Ma'am? Well, wait here and an officer will be along monentarily to take your statement and bring a banana for your monkey."

An old friend once told me they enjoyed and respected my intellect. At the same time, they said people found me intimidating and that I tended to wield that intellect like a club, likely to keep most people at a distance. I felt exposed, but couldn't deny it. We're still friends.

The idea that this god used men as pens, giving them divine will/inspiration, is undeniably one of the funniest explanations ever given for a text's authorship.
Well, I distracted myself this morning with this.

Morning in the empty house. Silence, save for my own clumsy movements. No one else. No friends. No family. Just the echoes of the past and the weighty emptiness of the present. I hallucinate my friend's voice - the mind fills gaps it can't deal with. Still, quiet, alone.
Simping for billionaire oligarchs who don't give a tiny, dry, flaccid fuck about you is peak stupidity. Why are you defending an asshole whose boot is on your skinny neck? If that's your kink, fine. But it's deeply deranged, misplaced and delusional on your part.
...and so, I had to get out of bed, then micturate, perform the morning ablutions, descend the stairs, go to the kitchen, make the coffee, and now, I'm sipping a dark, delicious cuppa java.
Carpe Diem, friends. Carpe Diem.
Do I get out of bed? Let’s think about this. If I stay in bed there’s no coffee, and I’m alone here, no one is going to make coffee unless I get out of bed. I have to pee, and peeling the bed is so yesterday. So, if I want to pee and then make coffee, I have to get out of bed.

Republicans should ditch the elephant and just use a silhouette of a man chasing a little girl as their party symbol.
Every apologist is constantly negotiating and renegotiating with their texts in an attempt to position their narrow, tenuous ideology as relevant in emergent modern contexts. Jacques Derrida might even be amused at the gymnastic contortions Burdick et al go through in the process
