A perfect contrast. You couldn't ask for clearer proof of the sheer hypocrisy and endless double standards at the heart of the state-funded NGO apparatus. They operate by one set of rules while forcing another on the rest of us. They lecture us while cashing our cheques to support their lavish lifestyles and publishing their meddling, mischievous, and mad thoughts and theories.

Dear Ribena, You may be closer to the truth than the establishment would care to admit. When political decisions repeatedly run contrary to the expressed wishes and interests of the people, suspicion is not irrational. It is the beginning of accountability. And Micheál Martin’s record on Irish sovereignty, military neutrality and the transfer of decision-making to Brussels warrants considerably more than polite parliamentary hand-wringing. Consider his own words and the Government’s documented decisions. --- “Neutrality is a policy issue that can change at any time.” — Micheál Martin, as reported by The Irish Times, 2022. --- “I would dispute that.” — Martin, in the Dáil, 2 July 2024, rejecting the assertion that the Triple Lock is the cornerstone of Irish neutrality. --- “This is about exercising our own sovereignty.” — Martin, on the proposed removal of the existing Triple Lock protections, March 2025. --- There is the extraordinary Orwellian inversion: sovereignty invoked to justify dismantling a safeguard against the unilateral deployment of Irish troops overseas. The Government has pursued changes to the Triple Lock without putting the proposal to a referendum, despite the profound constitutional and strategic implications. Ireland participates in PESCO, the EU’s Permanent Structured Cooperation on defence, and in NATO’s Partnership for Peace. Neither participation should be casually equated with NATO membership, but both raise legitimate questions about the gradual integration of Irish defence policy into wider European security structures. Where is the meaningful public mandate for the direction of travel? On migration, the Government opted into seven legislative measures of the EU Migration and Asylum Pact in 2024, following approval by both Houses of the Oireachtas. That is the constitutional procedure under Article 29.4.7°, not a referendum. The substantive question remains whether parliamentary approval is an adequate democratic substitute for direct public consent on measures with such far-reaching implications for Ireland. And what of the RAF and the protection of Irish airspace? Any arrangement involving foreign military surveillance or assistance must be scrutinised for its legal basis, transparency and implications for sovereignty. The precise claim of a secret pact requires documentary evidence, but the public deserves clear answers rather than blind assurances. This is the point that matters: sovereignty is not a ceremonial word to be wheeled out whenever convenient. It means the Irish people retain meaningful control over the decisions made in their name. Constitutional procedures must not become a convenient mechanism for transferring consequential decisions beyond their effective reach. Martin’s own parliamentary record supplies ample grounds for challenging his position. We need neither embellishment nor conspiracy theories. The contradictions are sufficiently serious on their own. Ireland is a republic, not a provincial administrative unit of Brussels. The Constitution is not an inconvenience to be managed, neutrality is not a disposable political preference, and democratic consent is not an obstacle to be circumvented. Well said, Ribena. FREE PRIVATE SECURITY, COURTESY OF AN GARDA SÍOCHÁNA? Live from Leixlip Manor, where apparently An Garda Síochána can now be used as a private security force. As you can see in the attached video, the five Gardaí blocking the entrance to Leixlip Manor are apparently there because their bosses have told them to be. In other words, a private property owner appears to have the State and An Garda Síochána providing security for a private establishment. So, the next time you're looking for security guards for your nightclub, or you just want a couple of coppers standing outside your gaff in case you're under threat, why not ring your local Garda station and ask them to send a few officers down to provide security? That's the way it seems to work.
