Putin does not have a veto over European security.
Any agreement to end the war must prevent Russia from re-arming and re-attacking.
This is why earlier this year, I put forward a paper with core demands towards Moscow, which was discussed by EU Foreign Ministers. This should be the basis for any negotiations.
Concessions should be on the aggressor, not on the victim.

Ukraine’s domestically developed cruise missile appears to be making increasingly frequent appearances against Russian military targets. It’s encouraging to see. Hopefully, the pace continues to grow.

❗️Ukrainian drones struck Russia's Saratov oil refinery overnight, with multiple fires reported at the Rosneft-owned facility on the Volga River. The refinery has a design capacity of around 7 million tons of crude annually and produces gasoline, diesel and other fuels. Presidents certainly have the right to pick their Chiefs of Staff, but selecting Stephen Miller shows that Donald Trump has learned nothing from the message Americans sent him in this election. Miller is the architect of some of the worst policies of this presidency, from the cruel and chaotic ICE enforcement to the tariffs jacking up your costs. Promoting him isn’t only bad for this Administration, it’s bad for the American people.

The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has identified the Russian monsters responsible for an airstrike on a school in Komyshuvakha.
At least 53 people were killed, and more than 50 others remain missing.
According to military intelligence, the attack on Komyshuvakha was planned by Colonel Fedir Volodymyrovych Subakov, head of the fire control group within the staff of the Russian "Dnipro" army group.
Four Su-34 aircraft were deployed to carry out this war crime.
The bombing involved Tactical Aviation Group No. 5, which comprises the 11th and 559th Aviation Regiments.

German government deems hosting Ice Hockey World Championship with Russia "practically impossible"
The German federal government has effectively ruled out the possibility of hosting the Ice Hockey World Championship next May if the Russian national team is permitted to participate.
Due to widespread opposition from other nations, as well as from business and media partners, "hosting the tournament becomes practically impossible from both a sporting and an economic perspective," stated government spokesperson Steffen Cornelius. He made these remarks at a press conference following consultations between Berlin, the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB), the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB).
According to Cornelius, serious threats of a boycott from several countries—including the reigning world champions, Finland—indicate that "the international ice hockey community does not accept Russia’s return, even in light of the ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)." Furthermore, several sponsors of the World Championship have indicated that they would withdraw their support should the Russian team take part.
Meanwhile, DEB board chairman Frank Lutz has acknowledged the possibility that Germany might relinquish its status as the tournament's host. "Our goal is to hold the tournaments as planned. However, if Russia is admitted and boycotts ensue, that becomes practically impossible," Cornelius noted. "Therefore, we now intend to explore options through negotiations that might still allow the tournament to take place."

Russia’s Proton-Electrotex defense electronics plant in Oryol is under another missile attack.
The facility produces components for Iskander-M ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and Pantsir-S1 air defense systems.
The plant was previously struck by Storm Shadow missiles on October 23, just two weeks ago.

After Susie Wiles resigned, Trump appointed Stephen Miller, a staunch loyalist, nationalist, Iran hawk, and opponent of support for Ukraine and NATO, as his new chief of staff.
My take: Wiles is abandoning ship because Trump is preparing a scorched-earth revenge campaign, even if it means sinking the ship of state with everyone aboard. Miller is the loyalist who’ll help him open the seacocks.

Of course, Stephen Miller is the archetypal fascist—ideologically, politically, rhetorically, behaviourally. He’s a sort of American Obersturmbannführer.
But he’s also a staunch pro-russian and an admirer of Putin.
The two go hand in hand, after all.
Just put together this piece for subscribers on the (freaking dark) appointment of Stephen Miller as Trump's Chief of Staff. Miller is best known for his anti-immigrant pose, but he is violently against supporting Ukraine and parrots Kremlin talking points. This looks like an attempt to pre-empt the new Congress. Democrats better be ready.
