pregnancy comes with its own risks. Some may be very high risks.
Is it a death sentence?...
We will continue to feed the public with crisp, triple filtered information.
WATCH, SHARE, REPOST. This is very interesting.

It is not personnel - it is defensive geometry.
Arteta enforces a strict 25-meter distance between lines, with wingers tracking deep to form a 6-man barrier that chokes central space and limits opponents to low-xG shots.
City accepts defensive transition vulnerability in exchange for total final-third control. Arsenal trades attacking speed for structural shot suppression.

Is pregnancy a death sentence? No
Did I almost died when I had my second baby but timely interventions of doc saved me? YES.
But is pregnancy still a death sentence CAPITAL NO! Pregnancy is not stage 4 cancer. Pregnancy comes with its risk but it’s still not a death sentence
This "pregnancy is not a death sentence" debate exposes one critical flaw that most women have, which is: personalising a generic fact, even for a trivial issue.
For example, if you say, "most women are shorter than men," without fail, you'll have a ton of women saying, "I know a girl in my family that is taller than men."
Sis, that is not the point. The point is, whether you know 4 girls in your family that are taller than men or not, on the average, most men are taller than women.
If you bring it to this pregnancy argument, I notice that, especially for women who haven't birthed a child yet, they personalise the stories of those who have encountered complications in child birth and are prone to agree with the take of "pregnancy is a death sentence."
The general statistic is irrelevant to a woman, either educated or not. They deal promordially on anecdotal evidence and that wiring skews objective evidence.
The average global child mortality rate is 200 per 100,000 pregnant women that generate complications. Or a 0.1% mortality rate.
This means that 99.9% of women that go through the path of pregnancy are delivered of successfully, globally. 99.9% is almost 100%.
Should we commiserate with those who get complications during child birth? Yes. But should we drop in mindless conclusive talks on the death sentence of a natural process? No.
Pregnancy is NOT a death sentence.

Any man who tries to mock women who genuinely feel scared of dying during childbirth is a moron, a buffoon, and, in fact, a disgrace to his family and society.
Healthcare professionals like myself, who insist that pregnancy is not a death sentence, should not be categorised as people who mock women who are afraid of dying during childbirth.
In real life, we are the ones who do everything within our power to ensure that a woman carries her pregnancy to term and delivers her baby safely, without complications. And when complications arise, we manage them appropriately to prevent maternal mortality.
I will never mock a pregnant woman simply because she is scared of the risks associated with pregnancy. Rather, I will counsel her appropriately and explain that pregnancy comes with risks, but it is not a death sentence.
I will encourage her to register for antenatal care so that we can monitor her progress, identify risk factors for pregnancy complications, prevent or manage them early, anticipate possible complications during delivery, and prepare adequately to manage them.
This is what we do every day, with empathy and professionalism.
We will never mock a pregnant woman for being afraid of the risks associated with pregnancy, but we will also not accept the blanket assertion that pregnancy is a death sentence.
PREGNANCY IS NOT A DEATH SENTENCE!

When you have nothing factual to support your argument, you resort to outrageous, brain-dead claims to make yourself feel good.
Several studies across Nigeria have documented harmful practices and disrespectful, abusive maternity care involving female healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses and midwives. Medical negligence and the mistreatment of women by healthcare professionals are not exclusive to men.
Negligence and mistreatment during childbirth are real problems, but you cannot pin them on one gender. Therefore, my own agenda is that you're a fool obsessed with fueling gender wars, and that's why you fail to understand this.

I generally stay away from MedTwitter because of too much ego flying around. @drifeleah is one of those few HCPs I follow here and I do appreciate her enthusiasm for proper health communication. That is the only reason I decided to engage her vacillations about a straightforward question put to her as a medical doctor: whether it is right to say ‘pregnancy is a death sentence.’
I respectfully pointed to her that it betrays the principle of health risk communication to communicate to patients in such manner. This is why she went on to block me, lol. Contrary to what she is trying hard to portray, it is completely unethical for doctors to communicate health risk in such a manner. She very well knows she can’t defend that in any board exam or workplace based assessment.
I did not speak about what patients can say about their own experience, but about how HCPs should help patients understand their risks. To insist HCPs should communicate health risk sensitively, in a way that doesn’t contribute to health anxiety, is not minimising, dismissing or invalidating patient’s experience. It is stewarding your words properly as a professional.
I do hope that when you have had the moment to cool off and reflect, you can better evaluate whether you have been consistent with your own principles.

They sentenced her to 14 years in prison using Islamic jurisprudence, even though they knew she was a Christian and she had only advised an adult about her faith, yet the world is silent about it.

Damn... this story hits heavy.
She asked him to stop initiating, he actually listened for *sixteen months*, no pressure, no sneaking, nothing. And then one day he’s like “yeah I’m done living like roommates.”
The quiet part is what gets me. He wasn’t yelling or cheating or making threats. He just slowly checked out while still showing up for the kid and the laundry. That’s the scary part is when the fighting stops because one person already left in their head.
Sixteen months of “I’ll tell you when I’m ready” with no timeline is a long time to keep hoping the connection comes back. You can’t take one of the biggest parts of marriage off the table indefinitely and act surprised when the other person eventually walks.
Painful story. Real one though.

Anything with a minimum survival rate of 99% is not a death sentence - figuratively, metaphorically or literally.
Nobody should be teaching you this.
This discourse shows you how a lot of women can be dishonest over certain matters. Allowing emotions to override a standard logic.
Crazy how road deaths supersede maternal deaths yet it is prevalently accepted that driving is NOT a death sentence, but but "pregnancy is..." Lol🙃
Malaria kills more people in Nigeria than almost anything.
I lost my younger sister to cerebral Malaria. God bless her soul 🕊
Can I say Malaria is a death sentence?
No!... because it is not. I'll not be sentimental and start being emotional.
I SWORE THE HIPPOCRATIC OATH... So, As a MEDICAL DOCTOR, I owe you correct information without sounding smart or ambiguous.
Even though I lost my own best sibling(my fellow trouble maker) to Malaria, I can't now spreading misinformation.
Same thing... We still have mortality from Pregnancy in Nigeria but over 99% still survive... so, PREGNANCY IS NOT A DEATH SENTENCE.
if anyone who's a medical doctor can't tell you like this... you need to open your eyes and start reconsidering that person's degree!
