🚨OPINION ; Why Better Palliative Care Matters in Rwanda’s Health Care System
Public health consultant Rutsobe @NRutsobe Nsengiyumva, MPH, has called for stronger investment in palliative care as a critical component of Rwanda’s health care system.
According to Nsengiyumva, Rwanda and other African countries should integrate palliative care into national health policies, expand training for health care professionals, improve access to essential pain medications, promote home-based care services, and increase public awareness about palliative care.
He emphasized that strengthening these areas would improve the quality of life for patients living with serious illnesses while ensuring compassionate, patient-centered care across the health system.
