On behalf of the Government of Kenya, I presided over the reception and inauguration of MD500 helicopters acquired through our valued partnership with the Governments of the Republic of Korea and the United States of America. This milestone underscores the value of the trilateral partnership between Kenya, the Republic of Korea and the United States, founded on mutual trust, shared interests and a common commitment to peace and stability. It further demonstrates the importance of international cooperation in advancing shared defence interests. The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kenya, H.E. Kang Hyung-Shik; the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Nairobi, H.E. Susan Burns; the Chief of the Defence Forces, General Charles Kahariri; the Defence Principal Secretary, Dr. Patrick Mariru, KDF Service Commanders: Lieutenant General David Ketter of the Kenya Army, Major General Bernard Waliaula of the Kenya Air Force, and Major General Pius O.
